If not Ramsey, then who?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

If not Ramsey, then who?

Post by tnathan »

Like pretty much everybody, i'm excited to see that Ramsey is getting in there. I didn't get to see the game, but followed it online... pretty quickly, he threw a 19 yard pass. I understand that we were in a hole, so he had to throw a lot, but I honestly think he'll do very well if we use the same game plan we did for brunell. Run Run Run. That worked pretty well for our offense, and the difference will be that when necessary, Ramsey can actually throw.

BUT, if Ramsey doesn't do well, what then? Wilbon suggests we get ready to sign Brees or Kitna. Sounds terrible to me, but that's me. Personally, I'd rather draft another guy. What do you guys think?

I read that Wilbon article in the Post and was surprised that he mentioned either one of those two players as possible future quarterbacks for the Skins. First of all, Kitna has had a mediocre career at best, having had only one good season, which was last year. Brees, on the other hand, has yet to prove that he can be a legit starting qb in the NFL. Yes he has been on fire for the last 5 or so weeks, but his previous 2 years have been poor. Also I'm wary of guys that suddenly step up their play in contract years. Given the chance I think that Ramsey can flourish under Gibbs's system. And if he doesn't then I hope that the Skins would bring in a qb that's better than either Kitna or Brees.

I would like to see Ramsey to play QB for the skins and maybe trade Brunell for another veteran QB as a backup. Ramsey has the arm given some playing time can be as good as any QB in the NFL.

Remember how damn good Ramsey was before injuries became a problem last season? He was playing at a pro bowl level and I think if we just give him some time, if our O-Line holds up, Ramsey will be a future star. If not, I'm not willing to use a draft pick on another QB. I'd rather try to get someone like Brees in Free Agency

Ramsey will be good. We still need do draft for the future though. Remember, Gibbs is old school. You draft a guy now and he learns for 3-4 years.

Kurt Warner???

Pat will be like a young Brett Farve in his early days. Brett even said it hisself last year.

Pat will be OK. His arm is amazing wait to he sees the field.

Bite your tongue.

Let's just all pray that Ramsey plays well, since there really isn't anybody out there to get excited about. aren't really any outstanding draft guys, as far as i can tell.

Not only is he washed up but he also has a huge contract that no team in the NFL would take on. My guess is that Brunell gets cut before next season.

We want Brunell to retire. He should just do us that favor.
