Jeff George's contract wasn't that big though. It was just another signing that didn't work out. I really feel for George. He had one of the best arms I've ever seen. He just didn't have the mental capacity to put it into action...

Deion? Are you trying to say that Peion played for us? I certainly don't recall that, so QUIT BRINGING IT UP!!!!!!! ;-)

Agreed HitDoctor. I liked Carrier and Shade both.

What was wrong with Big Daddy? He was an excellent run stopper. He just couldn't get pressure. His contract wasn't anything outrageous either...

tony banks and all those players mentioned from the spurrier era definitely sucked, but i think we only paid them $5.25/hr, so i wouldn't really call them big busts. i mean, any team could make a list of all the sucky players it has fielded over the years, it's just a matter of if you payed them to suck!

similarly, ki-jana carter got very little "coin" and was actually a pretty effective back-up/complement to stephen davis the year he was here.

Old Man Sanders played OK for us in 2000, but snyder should have been smarter than to let that obnoxious twit rob us blind with that big contract. i for one am sick of these huge "signing bonuses", they should be illegal! you don't get paid for agreeing to work, you get paid to WORK! that's just insane and stupid. if some lazy rich bastard signs a huge contract and quits like a greedy coward (like deion) after one season, he should have to give a prorated portion of that signing bonus back.

Hey genius, no swearing on this board. Go back to your Eagles board where you can run your mouth with your fellow drunken losers.

Somebody didn't read the rules sticky before he posted. That's okay. The Sig says it all. The Eagles aren't anybody's Daddy. They're missing the prerequisite equipment for fathering children.
Back on topic, I had no problem with Ki-Jana Carter. For that matter, I was looking for somebody to fill Larry Centers' shoes, and he did what he could.

PE....please refrain from swearing....1fan and cville, thanks for doing your part to police the ranks, but please do not quote the offending post. That means three posts that have to be edited instead of 1. 1fan, please refrain from attacking posters, even when they deserve it.

i think some of you guys are a little off track? there is a difference between a FA bust and a draft bust...

honestly, i think brunell will be here for awhile and probably hasn't started his last game as a redskin. plus he really didn't receive $43 MM b/c NFL contracts are so back loaded that the player never sees most of the money....

i know we're all frustrated, but i don't see us making the "bruce smith" and "deion sanders" type mistakes of the past 10+ years.

barrow is hurt, but GW loves the guy and i think he has done enough that i won't question him.

brunell was awful, but i am hoping he works hard and doesn't go out like that.

look at the positives - coles, washington, pierce (re-signed), mccants (starting to contribute), thomas, griffin, sala' vea (sp?), springs, etc...

i think our FO has done an A- job the past two years, and i am excited that we have such a talented and young team for Gibbs to make a run at a SB.

tony was from the "marty era" (can you call 1 year an era?), and it can be argued that if bank had started every game, we COULD have gone to the playoffs (george got us started on that 5 game losing streak before being released).
