$43 million mistake?
We paid Brunell 43 MILLION, 43 MILLION!
I think we also paid Jeremiah Trotter 43 Million and we cut him this year due to his performance. Like Brunell, Trotter has been to the Pro Bowl years ago. So, within a matter of months we cut a guy that is not worth his contract and we continue to start a guy that is not worth his contract.
Polar opposites, but the decision is made by the same man.
Can you think of any other big signings that were not worth it (draft picks/contract). Just add Brunell's name to this list
Deion Sanders (worst and most costly signing ever)
Jeff George
Mike Barrow (what have you done for me lately)
Dana Stubblefield
Trung Candidate
Alex Molden (got a $1 million bonus and got cut in camp)

$43 Million AND a 3rd round pick.
Chris Simms was taken with the LAST pick in the 3rd round and is Tampa's QB of the Future...but we use our 3rd round pick on QB of the Past.
I wonder if our draft next year will be as exciting as the Dolphins (they traded their 2nd and 3rd rounders too).

Yes, that has been the problem w/ your owner. He invests too much $$$ on the wrong players. At least he tries. It took a lawsuit from the people of Cincy to get Mike Brown to spend some dollars....and he still doesn't shelve out enough.

I think Dana Stubblefield was the worst during my time, but we ended up getting draft picks for him didn't we? My memory is lacking but I think his picks ended up working into the champ pick didn't they?
Deion was the 2nd worst, and Brunell a close 3rd...
All the talk about busted pickups/trades, but those pickups have gotten us Coles, Washington, Portis, Springs and Griffen. I'd say I'm pretty happy with Snyder. The main problem we USED to have was Snyder was signing guys at the end of their careers. The last couple years he's been much smarter about the whole thing.
Everyone has always insisted we were going to hit cap hell ever since Snyder bought the team, but it has never materialized. Gotta admit that Snyders guys understand and know how to manipulate the cap better than anyone in the league.
That being said, I for one hope that we stand pat with what we currently have, and just draft guys for a couple years. I'd like to get some more breathing room and our current group is good enough to get the job done as is.

Would ANY of you think that I feel sorry for the owner about this senseless spending frenzy???
Of course not!!!
He MAKES a lot more money than he throws away with this franchise! Many of these acquisitions have been marketing ploys. They workd. Yes, they did. All of them.
They fulfilled their trure purpose: to attract attention and advertising dollars.
The game, on the other hand... What game???

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
Jeff George. I'm not sure what we paid him, but boy...I saw fear in those eyes, and I NEVER want to see fear in a QB.
Barrow is a complete bust so far. Carl Banks wasn't all that.
All-time ? Deion, for me.

You all beat me to some of the ones I had in mind (Wilkinson, and George), but I still have more....
Tony Banks
Rob Johnson
Jacquez Green
Any player Spurrier brought from the Gators for that matter
Kijana Carter
Stephen Alexander (depending on the season)
Byron Chamberlain
Darrell Russell (The Drug Guy)
Good players, but past their prime when they got here.....
Andre Reed
Irving Fryar
Eric Metcalf
