that flag feeling

Post by tnathan »

i'm sure it's been said a million times, but it was the worst feeling in the world when i heard the word "flag" on the portis touchdown. I was in a bar, jumping all over the place, slapping hands and everything, and then we all just hit the floor. I feel like the red sox or something. the old red sox.
on the other hand, at least DC United is in the playoffs. I'm probably the only one here who cares about that, though.

I have no comment on the mention of "Red Sox", which to me, is the biggest comment of all. :)
(Heard Millar running his mouth this week ? Look into it. It's amazing.)
I don't know what DC United is, but yay for them.
As for the flag, there was no motion. The hard camera stayed on the line, and I saw no motion.
Thrash was not in a position to run out. He was a blocker, through and through. That's a TD, and an Ola Kimrin EP.
Of course, the "D" tightens up, because Joe knows how to hold a one point lead with two minutes left. He'd mess around on the extra point a little, take a penalty, do the kick after the warning.
But, nope. The hyperactive officiating has to go and put their own stamp on a game. They did it in the Dallas game, and they did it again yesterday.
Great shades of B-Mitch, the way Portis dove into the end zone.
So many missed opportunities, though...

Really, I don't know. Soccer, right ? Nothing else makes sense, and I know there's a Manchester United, or something like that.
I don't follow anything but football and baseball. Basketball is out, as is soccer, tennis, pro bowling, polo, swimming, Olympics and every-dang-thing-else but Pro Wrestling.
Now THERE'S a sport.

well, nobody may care, but DC United is powering into the playoffs, sweeping the new york squad last weekend and are considered the favorite to win the conference final and go to the league title game. gives me something to be happy about.

Again, go DC UNITED!!! It's good to have Championship caliber football in the city again. "Adu" believe that if DC United wins, that would be their fourth title, no? Thanks for the info, tnathan.

Is it just me or do we just get the worst officiating you've ever seen in your life at home. We may get 1 or 2 bad calls on the road but thats to be expected but when we are at home it's as if the refs aretrying to make us lose and they do a great job if they are. I have never in my entire life seen a morehorribly officiated game than the dallas game and that last call on thrash was absolutly ludacris. I think these guys are politicians on the side and taking bribes from the other team to throw the game.
