A fan's plea part III
Coach Gibbs,
For another week Brunell will be the starter. My boycott will continue of Brunell. But Coach Gibbs you must give us some sort of reason that he will remain the starter. Tell us Ramsey doesn't know the offense well enough. Tell us anything but, we, the fans need a reason to hope and have faith in this man. If we are to follow this man, he must step up and be the leader of this team and not the scape goat. In my eyes as well as many others Ramsey should get the start. But you must know something no one else does, well let us in on the secert too. We have suffered for to long with less than average seasons. This team needs a leader to step up and step up quickly. If Brunell can turn it around then thats great and I will support him. Until then I will call for Ramsey, who last season made me a huge fan of his. And please air it out to Coles, the man is due for a big game here sometime soon.
Sincerly,
A Fan

actually correct me if i'm wrong but i think gibbs did say that ramsey didn't know the offense. I think i saw on fox that he said ramsey only knew about 1/3 of the offense and didn't have a firm grip on it. He said he also didn't make good reads. His offense does have a lot of motions and shifts and stuff to get a favorable matchup

Are you talking about the interview that gibbs did before the season started? I find it EXTREMELY difficult to believe the Ramsey only knows 1/3 of the offense and even more difficult to believe that Gibbs would call him out like that at this stage of the season.

Agree this must have been pre-season but more importantly that favorable matchup doesn't mean anything when you launch it 6 feet over WR's heads. Then they go long and you wobble a duck down the field.[/code]
no it was this week, which is really troubling. But think about it, for a young qb who has gone through one complicated offense already, its going to take some time for ramsey to pick this system up. He's almost like a rookie now. Starting over. You wouldn't expect eli or rivers to have a firm grasp on the offense by now would you?
You bring up a good point. I guess it is probably more difficult when all you knew in your pro career was the Fun-N-Gun. It is a huge transition. The scary thing is Gibbs is backing BumL like he is some warrior who is just unlucky and at the same time he is talking down Ramsey. That doesn't seem like the right thing to do. Ramsey is our future we should at least show him some respect. But...in Gibbs I trust.

PLEASE! Don't give us the he's learning a whole new offense routine. If it's so complicated then Brunell is stumbling also. If we are going to be stumbling and learning this offense then lets do it with someone who can air it out. Brunell's problem is his arm and other teams know this. They bunch up on the line to stop the run with as few linemen as it takes them and either play cover or blitz. Brunell is a has been. I would rather take my chances with a QB that only knows 1/3 the offense and can air it out then one who knows not much more because I can assure you Brunell has not been in this type of offense either and throw wobbles and dirtballs. It looks like Gardner seems to know the offense lets let him play QB because his pass was alot better then anything Brunell has thrown all this season!

Actually, yes I would. Looks like there's a kid in Pittsburgh doing a FINE job. At least good enough to go 5-0 and break NE's 21 game winning streak.
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.
Joe knows the value of chemistry. I don't think the lack of protection for poor Patrick was entirely an accidental thing, and I think Joe knows it. The line doesn't trust him, because he audibles so badly that everybody jumps.
The truth is, we really don't have a quality quarterback. It's sad, but true. We don't even have Dilfer, but we just might have something along the lines of that brutal Ravens defense working here.
Sometimes, the QB just has to not lose the game.
This is one of those times.
We don't have the guy to do that.
Anybody miss Gibby and Hasselbeck yet ?
Where's that freak-boy Frerotte when you need him ? Minny, right ?
