Awesome Joe! Congrats, why aren't you rioting in the streets?? Your fellow fans expect it of you! ;-)

i streaked through downtown camden (population 5,000) this morning before work in celebration, so i've done my part. the folks here aren't too surprised at seeing naked people running in the streets, so i didn't draw too much attention.

i was 'stuck' on baby duty last night while my wife slept (!) through the celebration, so i couldn't riot in the streets. i did tip over my sons tonka trucks in the living room, though.

Congrats to the Sox. It must feel good to not be the underdog for once.

And now it's time to watch the Skins do the same. . .

That was an excellent game and an unbeleivable performance by the Sox. Congratulations to all those in Red Sox nation.

Heard one of ESPN's baseball analysts this morning on Mike and Mike, talking about how his dad was born in Boston in 1919 and dies last year, and so lived his entire life without ever seeing a Red Sox championship team.

This goes down as one of the greatest baseball stories in the history of the game, not because they won it finally, but how they won it. Being down 0-3 to the Yankees and then winning 8 straight, befuddling the Scott Rolen, and Jim Edwards at the plate and never trailing at any point during the world series is just plain amazing.
RIP 21

Joebaga, Congrats Man. My brother is a doubley-tormented soul as well. Skins/Sox - I'm so happy for the Sox - so many gutty performances - Schilling, Damon, Ortiz, Bellhorn - just too many to count. But it was an awesome performance getting 8-in-a-row after going 3 down. I don't think I'll ever forget it.

I don't think it could ever be warm enough for me to streak - but if the Skins win the SB - I'm going to seriously think about it!

I really wanted them to win to "reverse the curse" and I'm glad they did. But it doesn't feel like they are the best team in baseball and won the World Series. It feels like they are putting the end to a long story line.

Good for the Red Sox.

Frickin' Cards laid down, man. They laid down.
Expos would've beat them.
Still, Congratulations to all the Boston fans here. You've certainly waited long enough.

Finally!!!

Finally, an October Night comes to where I don't have to hear Yankee fans rubbing in another Red Sox loss.

Finally, I can just enjoy the game without waiting for that inevitable kick to the balls.

Finally, I won't hear the 1918 chants or see the posters. I won't see any more curse of the bambino pictures.

Finally, I can say THE RED SOX ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS AND THEY WENT THROUGHT THE HATED YANKEES TO DO IT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 86 YEARS

I'm of a different breed, I guess. Skins and Yankees, those are my teams. The fact that the Redskins originally hail from Boston never had any effect on me. I always hated the Sox and I don't really care for their town too much, either. Awesome sausage hoagies up there, though! I remember when my beloved Yankees were the ones that were cursed. Remember the Wade Boggs and Don Mattingly days? The Yankees' drought from 1978 to 1996? I despised the Red Sox! We were the AL East doormat year after year, while they basked in glory.

But I can live with their win, even if it was partly at our expense. 80+ years is along wait. Plus, it's good for baseball. The rivalry is legit, now. Can't wait for 05! Go Skins, go Yanks! Any other Skins/Yankees fans out there?
