A Warning

Post by Jake »

The Chicago Bears are underrated.

I went to my brother-in-laws house to watch them play the Vikes and Eagles. (Yes I watched the Skins games, too. He has 2 TV's in the living room. )

In the Vikes game, the Bears were screwed by A LOT of bad calls. Their defense gave a up a few crucial touchdowns but were still able to come back and only lose by 5.

Keep in mind, their d was missing about 5 starters.

Against the Eagles, they started a new quarterback, Jonathan Quinn (who REALLY, REALLY sucks). The Bears were still plagued with bad calls but less than they dealt with aganst Minnesota. Chicago's D held them to field goals but their achilles heel was their QB. The receivers were open but he just couldn't give it to them. The Bears made several dumb mistakes but were still able to stay in the game against the 4-0 Eagles.

That being said, with Daniels on the roster, and Blache as our defensive coordinator, I think (hope) we will win.

I know our defense will do their job against Chicago's offense since Quinn is still QB. The only other main threat is Thomas Jones but he his production has gone down lately. But also look out for my boy and former Skin Bryan Johnson on Sunday. He has been an important part of their offense this season. Damn, it hurts to see him in another uniform besides the Redskins.

My main concern is how our struggling offense will fare against a defense that returns Brian Urlacher, who has missed the last 2 games, and Jerry Azumah, who not played a game this season.

I think that we are fit on ST and D but once again, our O, against a strong Bears D, will determine our success this week.

Wow a team that was plagued by penalties and dumb mistakes, that sounds so familiar. Where have I heard that before?? My major concern in this game is Brunnell. He's under alot of pressure to get it right this time, I'm not sure if that is going to help him or hurt his performance.

Exactly my thoughts! We're two teams in the same boat.

I'm just tellin' ya. They almost beat Philly and Minnesota. Don't be surprised if they earn a victory. I'm not expecting them to beat us but if they do, I'm not gonna be shocked, just VERY, VERY PO'd.

I watched a lot of the Minny/Chic and Philly/Chic games. Minny was coasting and took the 4th quarter off and Chicago scored 16 points to make it look close.

Philly was leading 16-3 at haltime and packed it in. Chicago scored a late td to make it reasonable at 19-9.

Both games were only close AFTER Chicago was out of the game. The Skins will dominate from beginning to end.
How many more sleeps until next season?

Boy, I hope so Stouff! I agree with Jake about this - this team is a lot like us and they have played some tough teams, while we have basically beat ourselves.

I am hoping that this is the week that our O gets something going, and the team can manage to find a way to win for a change.

I don't see us dominating but I would like it a lot.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The one way we can be sure to win this game is for our defense to take advantage of the Bears' weak offense and score 1-2 defensive TDs. If we can do that, we'll be okay. If we have to rely on our offenseto put points on the board (only), we're toast.

We've got a lot more talent than the Bears on offense. It's time to get this offense on the ball - points on the board - bling for the baby.

So what?

Post by Redskin in Canada »

There is a point when the Skins must win tough games against teams with winning records and also against teams as desperate for a win as we are.

I like the game AWAY from DC. Skins v. Bears and fans in Soldier Field. The way it was in 1981 and the way it should be now.

No way Bears win..here's what's going to happen. Skins blowout the Bears...Gain much needed confidence get two weeks off, get Arrington, Barrow (maybe) Daniels, Lott and Hall back..handle GB and then beat Detroit in a close one to pull even at 4-4 at the half way point. We go 5-3 the rest of the way and make the playoffs!

Don't we play GB after the Bears? after the Bears we get the bye then the Lions before Cincy... which means that would put us at 5-4 after Cincy... I like that alot 9-7 ain't 10-6 but it's a start

I agree with Jake's warning, this could be a tough team to beat this w/e.

We just need to find a way to win!

After this week, and being very disapointed, I am not going to be down if we lose! I am looking forward to our team playing the way it is capable of. You can say I'm blind, but, I for one, have faith in our coaches and players and I am looking forward!

This season is the begining of the new regime. We are a 5-11 team that might have been unlucky in some games but we really were not a good team. We are begining to look okay and we should not be so down after 5 weeks.

Give the team and coaches time, IMO, that is going to take more than 6 weeks.

I'm also buying DEHog's prediction. We win this one and never look back for the next 5 seasons. . .
