Wow, this has to be one of the best trades in Broncos’ history. I can not think of another time where Denver got so much, and yet gave so little. Ah, the Elway trade surpasses this deal. So buck up skins fans, Baltimore traded John Elway for Jonny Morton! So your little team is second in Bronco history. :lol:

Well, I am glad to see Portis is carrying your team; he has always been the type to carry the load. I mean he took Denver…well, the never carried the load in Denver and we went nowhere with him; but he is so durable and is such a powerful running back—well he is not that either. Hey!, he is fast! :celebrate:

If you ask me, he is well worth 50 million; I mean where would the Skins be with out Portis?

What do you guys want for Arrington? We have lots of running backs—if you want to try that route again--, some WRs, and hell you can even have Jake Plummer. Just contact Shanahan at Dove Valley; I’m sure we can send you another sensational running back, maybe Droughns, or Griffin. All I know is that after this year, there will be another Bronco running back awing people. So if you want another get in line now, put in your order with Shanahan, and get Arrington ready to move west. LMAO

You are welcome, he was leaving us anyways and our defense is still dominate. Once we have a solidified OLine portis will get over 1500 again, no problem, it'll just take a year or a qb that can throw to open up the field.

No problem on the trade, by the by. Most of us hope that Champ does well for you as long as he isn't playing the Skins. We're also pretty patient fans, so we realize that you can't call Portis a bust after 5 games.

Champ and Elway, two players you received who were too stuck up to stick with their own teams. . .now that's a legacy.

What rookie it that? Clayton? Come'on man, Champ was tripped up by Clayton off the line of scrimage. If anything that was offensive PI, if you ask me. However its your story, pal, tell it how ever you want to tell it, if that makes you feel better.

Next time you talk to champ, ask him how he got his face lacerated last year, oh yeah, it was by "tripping" and falling and getting kicked in the face as the reciever ran in for a td. We have smoot, who needs champ.

Hey Elgay07, I've been wondering where you were when Quentin was fumbling and tripping over his own two feet. Sure he had a great game against KC, but who doesn't? :roll:

Then Droughens runs right through the 31st ranked Carolina run defense. Again, who doesn't? :roll:

CLANG!!! My ears still hurt from all the noise from Champ's hands on the little curl he ran last weekend. Plummer hit him right in the hands. Tell Champ to keep using those hands for all those great tackles and not trying to be a WR.

Last time I checked the broncos had a pretty good defense before Champ got there and lets not forget that the also added Lynch to the secondary. As far as portis goes if there is no hole you cant run simple as that. Other than the fumbles I think he has done a pretty good job with what he has to work with. The O-line is just not getting it done. Very few runners become great backs without a productive O-line and our is just not that right now. We will get there though.

In the end to me a player really determines their worth in a trade in the long run. I Champ helps the Broncos to a Super Bowl down the road then they got the better end of the deal, however if the skins get that O-line together watch out.

Well, thank you Smoot. I don’t think you understand, I am happy with your dismay with Bailey. Bronco Nation is ecstatic with your dismay with Bailey. What he brings to Denver’s defense is almost unparallel, at least in Bronco history.

Look at the facts, Denver is the No. 1 ranked defense, it is No. 1 against the pass and 2 against the run. They have given up 3 points in the 4th quarter and 14 total points the second half in 5 football games. Denver is –5 in turnover ratio, its offense is still struggling with the loss of Shannon Sharpe and dealing with so many new faces. Plummer has thrown 4 interceptions in the red zone, and teams are stifling offensive output and getting short fields. And yet, Denver is 4-1, and a fumble on Jacksonville’s 23-yard line with 32 seconds left in the 4th quarter of a 6 – 7 game from being 5-0. How are they doing that? Defense. Champ’s productions comes not only in dominating in the passing game, but he is also one of the best open-field tackling d-backs I have every seen. He has 6 tackles for negative yards and he has yet to miss one tackle. Right now—he was tested a bit earlier—QB’s are not even looking his way.

With the talent around him, Champ and the defense are finding ways to win football games, while Denver’s best D-linemen Trevor Pryce is out on injury, regardless of the offensive efforts to give games away. What is known, is that Pryce is due to return in the next few weeks, and Shanahan will not allow this offense to continue to play this way. Which means, Denver will, in time, be the most balance football team in the league and Bailey is one of the most significant reason’s for that.

Like I said, your dismay with Champ Bailey is a gift for Denver—I mean Champ Bailey, and Tatum Bell for Portis! Thanks dude.

LOL, I do not agree with Bailey playing offense. It is too risky, however I think--I don't know--that Champ want some offensive promises before he signed with Denver. So what can you do?

Washington is the # 3 ranked defense without Champ and last year with him, we were #25. Denver was the 4th ranked defense last year, so adding Lynch and Champ has helped, but they were already good.

Do you think Denver's woes on offense could have anything to do with trading 1500 yards to the Skins? Wake up bonehead.

I think Griffin has not recovered from the fumble in the Jacksonville game. He is not like Portis; he is really sensitive and can't just put things behind him. See, allot of people did not notice, but Portis, in his rookie season, fumbled the football allot. Though most were recovered by Denver, he fumbled the rock allot. In fact the reason why Portis was not penciled in as the starter until week 6 was because he fumbled the football allot, and Shanahan bench him two or three times a game through out the year for his fumblitis.

Droughns, this cat is going to be special. I haven't seen a Bronco running back run the football so "violently" since Terrell Davis. TD is the mold; he is "Shanahan prototypical running back". Which is a strong, bruising runner who heads north and south, and pounds the football, while controlling the clock, thus the game. I believe Joe Gibbs knows a thing or two about these types of back too. Droughns is this type of running back. He's not flashy, he is not speedy; but he is bruising and runs straight down hill while breaking a lot of tackles and tiring out defenses. Portis never fit that mold, which made him expendable.

Denver had “statistically” the 4th ranked defense; however it was only in the numbers. They got manhandled by Manning in the playoffs, and pathetically lost to NE on Monday night football. When the game came down to the 4th quarter (like the NE game) the defense could not stop anyone, and they lost games for Denver. This year is different; thus far, Denver is wining—horribly played (on offense) games in not only the 4th quarter, but also the second half.

No, genius, Griffin is 12 yards shy from Portis' production for Denver this time last year. Denver's offensive woes come from Plummer's brain farts and WR's dropping balls. Wake up!

None of this matters one iota.

Champ wanted to leave Washington. He wasn't coming back this year, no matter what. So, we went and got an elite RB in exchange for him. In my book, that is better than just losing him to free agency or having him hold out for more money. Also, his feelings were hurt because Spurrier wouldn't let him on offense, and because he was tired of having a different coordinator every year.
