a look ahead to 2005?

schedule looks very winnable with nfc west and afc west. we get seattle and oakland at home but have to play at KC and st. louis. the other 2 conf games will be against nfc north (chicago again?) and south (tampa again?)

#1 priority in the offseason should be resigning smoot.
i think we need to focus on d-line in the draft but no 2nd round pick. top d-line prospects are: DE pollack (georgia), DT wright (texas), DE spears (LSU), and DE harris (miami). wisconsin also has 2 stud DT & DE playing well right now.

this yr has been so disappointing. the schedule was set up so favorably. no time zone travel problems (i.e. west of mississippi until late in year). getting to play weak offensive teams early on, no philly until week 10. the nfl front office certainly did its part to help the skins as they thought a strong start would really be good for the league overall.

its so heartbreaking i am just sick to my stomach in tokyo. do you know how hard it is to follow a game on nfl.com with no radio (against boys and giants) waking up at 2:00 am monday to follow the 1:00 pm games. i feel like crying every day...i am still sticking with my prediction of 9-7 and wildcard but sadly i do not think it will come true...

I'm normaly a big fan of picking up Linemen during the draft. I still believe picking up a good offensive lineman beats a great runningback every time. Even more so these days as it seems linemen are hard to find. This time however I think we are in serious neeed of a big time wide receiver. If we can get one guy with the first or second pick with game breaking speed and ability I think we should grab him. Other than that, Offensive line first, Defensive Line second, WR, RB.

I guess maybe a lot of you don't remember what it was like the first time around with Joe Gibbs. I was 14 when Gibbs came in 1981. I remember vividly the 0-5 start. I also remember that the Redskins never stunk again for the next 11 years.

Gibbs will always get the benefit of the doubt in my book and he will turn this around. Just hang in there.

Just because we're thinking about what we need next year doesn't mean I've given up on this year, but we have what we have now and have to play it out with these guys.

Thanks for saving me time and energy. This is rediclous. A bad month and you people, die hard enough Redskins fans to spend time on this site, look towards next season. THE PATRIOTS WERE 1-4 LAST SEASON BEFORE WINNING THE FREAKEN SUPER BOWL. I really can't believe this. I might just take a hiatus until December, when Gibbs has it turned around, returning in time to see all of you haters jumping back on teh wagon.

This is Joe Gibbs. Some of you are letting 4 losses, none by more than 7 points, completely change your feelings towards a guy who dominated the league for 12 years.

You gotta be kidding me. Come mid december I'm going to make a post with all of these, "the game has passed gibbs by," and, don't worry.. "we'll be back next year" stuff. This isn't some random rook off the streets, it's JOE GIBBS. A month ago we hold him on the same level or darned near close to that of GOD, now he is washed up.

talk about bitchin.....totally bitchin....this thread made me roll over and over laughing hysterically, almost urinated my pants!! Talking about 2005 already!! I've had that feeling, *sh$t*, I'm taking it out on guys at work, they're like "what's up man, your testy today"...I'm like, "yea, didn't sleep well (which I didn't Sunday night thinking about this team), have a lot of work"....didn't want to say, "yea, the fking Redskins lost and their season is basically over"...they'd say get a life....I've been a complete dick around the house last 2 Mon/Tue/Wed...primarily over this mess...wife and kids pissed at me...which, is uncalled for..but, I was so excited for 8 months and now it's mid-October and the towel is almost thrown in....couldn't wait for Portis to run up and down the field and see Gibbs get this team turned in the right direction....you know, a 9-7ish type record to start.

My last big hope is this.....win in Chicago...the same team we turned the 0-5 start in '81 around on...That is prophetic...see JPFair's thread.

We were first against the rush for the past month, and although our LB's and DB's have helped, lets give our d-line some credit. Wynn has been solid, Griffin is a monster in the middle, and Salavea and Noble have been steady.
