Things that make you say "Hmmmmmmmmm."
Okay folks, I have to get my mind off losing....so here it goes.
The purpose of this thread is for you to post an obscure question that you don't know the answer to....but always wanted to know.
Hopefully, by putting the question out to all of our fellow Hogs.Net brothers and sisters, someone can come up with an answer to your question.
Serious questions (i.e., a question about something "real life" please). No fictional questions. (Example: Can an African Swallow carry more coconuts than a European Swallow?)
I only have one rule: Before posting your question, the previous question must have been answered. (I don't want 10+ open questions floating around.)
If you post a question before a "valid" or "good faith effort" at the previous answer is posted, I will delete your question.
Okay? If you have any questions about this...please PM me.
Now....on to the first question:
WHAT EXACTLY IS A "SEA MONKEY"?

Do we have to know the answer off the top of our heads? Or can we glean it from the Interweb?

Sea Monkey
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
(Redirected from Sea monkey)
Sea Monkey® (sometimes hyphenated) is a marketing term for a variety of brine shrimp (Artemia salina), a branchiopod sold as a novelty gift.
They were first marketed in 1957 by Harold von Braunhut.
This particular species has been cited in studies of DNA and sexual behavior, primarily because they are commonly available specimens.

So far there have been no studies to suggest that this will cause any harm in most people. Viagra appears to be a very safe drug. However, there are certain types of medical conditions (for example, high or low blood pressure) that do cause problems for those who want to take it. Also, there are some other drugs and medications (for example, any of the prescribed nitrates or recreational nitrates) that can be very dangerous to mix with Viagra.
Do you know how long I had to search to find an answer suitable for the lounge?? LOL
The rest is here

Next question!

Whenever I start to get blue, I just breathe!
My favortie line from the Simpsons:
Flanders: "Looks like someone is having a pre-rapture party!"
Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"

About 15 but close enough. I didn't mean that to be a thread question!

Who really invented the internet?
I know it wasn't Al Gore, but who did it?

I don't know, some academics and military people. It was originally call ARPANET or something similar, and dates back to the 60's. I'm not sure at what point Al Gore was involved, but he definitely did not invent it.
I do know that Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web, and Mosaic, the first web browser, which led to Netscape.

I believe it's because a lot of religions that depict Christ are European, not African, based. Consequently, they likely feel more "warm and fuzzy" inside thinking that Jesus was white.
By the way, I certainly agree that Jesus could not have been white.
Any other ideas out there?
(And yes, I deleted about 4 posts that went on to other issues without this question being discussed.)

I did not answer this question, probably like everyone else who read it, because religion has been a hot topic around here and my answer would have stirred the pot in a "talking smack" kind of way.

Sorry JH it wouldn't have been intended to start an arguement. I just have an out of the ordinary response to that question. I don't want to have any fights in this thread either so I'll wait for the next question!

"Chinese fire drill" seems to be one of the few (fortunately) of these phrases that have survived in popular usage. Aside from being a synonym for "extreme confusion," incidentally, "Chinese fire drill" is also the popular name for a prank long-beloved of college students, wherein 4 or 5 of the little matriculators stop their car at a red light, jump out, run around the car and then hop back in, the point (such as it is) being to complete the procedure before the light changes to green.
"The earliest written citation for "Chinese fire drill" reported by the Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang dates only to 1952, although William Safire is quoted as maintaining that it was commonly heard in Brooklyn just after World War I. This is not necessarily, as it would seem, a contradiction. As a former resident of Brooklyn, I can testify that Brooklynites are often decades ahead of the rest of the U.S. in the development and testing of insults. In any case, "Chinese fire drill," though today almost always used without malice, is indeed an insult to those of Chinese ancestry, and deserves to be permanently retired." --
