Can someone cheer me the $*$%% up?

Post by Montana Redskin »

I've been a die-hard Skins fan since 1976..been thru a lot, obviously, and this ones right up there...last time, the 0-5 Shotty mess.

Obviously, our offense is totally inept. Brunell isn't getting it done, and neither is Portis. Granted, its the Ravens, but it was Cleveland last week, an easy buck-50 for any other back.

Defense obviously is fine, ST's is good enough (that runback wasn't blown that bad), penalties didn't kill us, TO's didn't....so, when is the ball going to go our way? It ain't getting better and changes need to be made and I'm thinking Ramsey...never thought I'd say that. Brunell's smarter by far, but I think Ramsey would stretch the field alot more, but with more pick's....

This D is going to crack if we can't get some O going soon....they're gonna burn out. We have to get Portis going, WTF is the problem getting him going?

Hey MR at least we don't have to pay convicts to win games! I hope that cheers you up a little. ;-) We will win. Just keep the faith!

Its hard to keep the faith tho.
The announcers, altho I hate them, did bring up a good point. We never crossed the 50-yard line...even when we started from the 49. Like seriously, that is just brutal.
How much better can our D play. They were tired because they were out there so often, 3 and out. Our D gave us 3 turnovers and we did nothing...
I know that didn't cheer you up, but I need to let some of this steam out.

Let me start by saying that I agree with Ramsey trying in. I do not think that this is going to happen next Sunday. But it will happen this season, hopefully sooner than later.

I know many of you have blamed the entire offensive unit, particularly the OL. I do not. I observed C. Samuels play and he did a heck of a good job. However, one good offensive lineman does not make an offensive line. Brunell knows that and that is why he is not setting his feet with enough time to throw accurately. He does not have a strong arm and needs all the time to set in to throw.

I do not feel that Portis is to blame. No blocking eqiuals no rushing yards, period. Even if you bring a heavy back, those opposing linemen and safeties are going to stop you if they are not blocked.

Cooley played well today.

I feel that Betts did a lousy job trying to cover the safety blitz that came from the blind side of Brunell. Although Brunell held the ball way tooooo loooong! You could almost see the fumble develop in slow motion.

I was going to say that it is difficult to win games without an offense. But Baltimore proved me wrong. We were beaten by a team definitely with no offense whatsoever other than J. Lewis.

I do not remember to have ever seen a Skins offensive unit so ineffective as ours today.

The team has a great defense, even without several of key starters. We are one quarterback and a couple of offensive linemen away from making it work. I really do not feel that we are that far from coming back to win.

This is as tough a time as we have had in a while. It is painful. But my team has not given up on me. On the contrary, they have fought their hearts out. I like their spirit. I am not going to give up on them.

Through thick and thin,
ALWAYS A REDSKIN!!!

I only have one thing good to say about the team that wore the Burg and Gold.

The DL played very well most of the game. Brunell stinks,
the OL shouldn't be tired at all, since they spent most of the game on the bench.

We need to send a mass letters to Mr Gibbs, that states we are tired of losing.at least put in Ramsay who has a shot for an arm,can move around the pocket.
And let him play himself back into the proper timing. So next year when he is the starter he will be better prepaired to quarterback the team.Four losses in five games is enough.

Well at least you all have seen the 80's.

My 1st Skin coach was Norv Turner, then Terry R., Marty, and Spurrier. I've seen nothing but disgrace and loses. I've seen incompetent coaching, and horrible player acquisitions. Its hard for me to think of one good thing I've ever seen other than the Aikman hit.

I wish I could remeber the super bowls, maybe that helps u guys keep faith. Im working on nothing.

Ya know what when Gibbs was here in 81, and started 0-5, he came from the Chargers who threw the ball all over the field. The Skin's tried to do the same thing in the beginging, it didn't work. Joe made the adjustments became a running team and the rest is history. I think he will make the adjustments needed and we will be fine.
Once the team stops making basic mistakes and maybe put in some faster hitting running plays, (my opinion), then all will be well.

Defense is awsome, but a Defense should not have to carry a team. The offense has to score points to win and ours SUCKS. Look at the bright side.....it's a rebuilding year. Not every coach who gets a team can change it the first year their in. If this is a rebuilding year and that "is what it is" because unless lighting strikes I can't see anyone stepping up to change the offense then why not simply put Ramsey in to get expierence for next year so he will have an understanding of the offense. He is our furture.....right? Why waist the moment. Maybe something will happen that Brunell is not getting done? Maybe he will get over his fear of getting slammed. I get to the point were I simply turn the channel...and I know that's not a Skins fan but I'm tired of seeing them lose and tired of seeing the same thing happen week after week. OH...yea....no fumbles.woohoo. Oh wait I forgot about Brunell. No...penalties?

If there is a positive from all this, we have been improving and our defence will get even better as the season progresses.

Also, this w/e we saw the Giants beat Dallass. We all know that D is better than the ants AND bp got thoroughly outcoached. I mean, does anyone think the ants are going to make the playoffs? Talk about praying, they don't have a prayer.

I think that we are very close to putting it together and I do not think we will see Joe make any hasty moves. I have faith in he and his asst. coaches and they will start making the adjustments that will result in the wins rather than the small improvements that we are seeing right now. This team needs a lot of help and we have to be patient while that job gets done.

Apart from that - hope your week gets better as we get close to our next win against da Bears!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Even my dog was depressed after the game. I caught him pouring lighter fluid on his Redskins bandana... again. Darn dog is bound and determined to light that thing on fire. I asked him why, and he just looked at me like - like I have to tell you? Didn't you watch the game? Good thing he doesn't have opposable thumbs - he might have burned more than the bandana. So he went and rolled it in *sh$t* instead, I hope he feels better.

Look, guys...Can't we expect some growing pains here ? Hasn't Gibbs earned the right to lose a few games without losing us as well ?
I'm not going to question the Man Himself. Um-um. No way. The only thing I can really think to say is, "Are the players buying into this program, or not" ? I mean, have you heard the latest quote from the Sideline Lion, LA Nation ? He's gone from, "It definitely feels different this time" to "Same old thing, every season. It's frustrating."
Hey, LaVar ? Shouldn't your ass be in uniform before you go shooting off your mouth again ?
Look. The game was well in hand. Here's the real deal. The Ravens have been playing with a top-notch defense and a piss-poor offense for five seasons now. They know how to win these games, people ! Keep it close, and get it done with special teams.
We'll figure it out. My bet is, it happens on Soldier Field, or whatever they're calling that UFO lookin' deal out there.
Gibbs isn't panicky, is he ? Is he cutting people left and right ? Nope. He's keeping everything the same, cool and calm. He's raising those boys up the right way.
Just relax. Hey, you're either on the bus or you're off it, okay ? Take your pick.
This here is Redskin Country, and everybody who introduced himself/herself/itself (SFIR's dog) as a die-hard Washington Redskins Fan will now have the opportunity to show his mettle.
Are you in or out ? It's all about heart, man.
Where's yours ?
"Sit back and watch the Redskins.
SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!"
