Sean Taylor...time to step up
The only time I have seen Taylor is when the whistle blows at the end of the play and you see his jersey come running up to the pile.
With Lavar out and many other injuries on defense we need this kid to step up. The defense has not had a BIG play yet and this kid was drafted for that reason. A big play in the next game is just what this TEAM needs.
With Kyle Boller at QB next week on a nationally televised game it makes it a perfect opportunity for Sean Taylor to step up. I formally request Taylor to make multiple big plays this weekend. If possible please have at least 1 sack, bat down a 3rd and long pass, force a fumble, and intercept and return for a touchdown.
(I think I've seen Ed Reed and Roy Williams do this before).

I thought Taylor played well this week despite his poor performance against Dallas (he made a nice play to break up a pass but missed a lot of tackles). He made some great hits this week and made some crucial open field tackles. I too am looking for some big plays.

A formal request? Then it is official.
Mr. Taylor, Could you please oblige? Please do not feel constrained by the above list of items. You are more than welscome to add to that list other valuable contributions and/or greater numbers of them.
No, Mr. Lewis, I did not mean you. Not you, I promise!

Agreed...he was horrible at Cleveland. Constantly out of position to tackle and, as Oafusp pointed out, all I seemed to see was the back of his jersey chasing down the receiver after biting on yet another pump fake.
He needs to step his game up.

I don't think anyone on the defense played horribly. I don't even think they were less than average. We can coulda, woulda, shoulda this thing to death - but the offense just plain sucked for the entire second half. When we have the ball we need to protect it, not make idiotic mistakes and score points. And Brunell needs to remember that Rod Gardner is on HIS team! Taylor is going to be better with every snap. Smoot is the veteran and has the biggest potential to turn things around - I move Smoot make big plays - second?
Taylor's game shows how meaningless some statistics are. He finished with 7 tackles, not bad on paper. The problem is that dragging a guy down after a catch shows up the same as making a play.
I saw where his closest tackle to the LOS was on a 12 yard gain.

This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

One and a half? One and a half? One and a ...

There were two big plays in which Taylor looked like a rookie that depends on his athleticism too much. One was the big third down conversion where Walt Harris jumped the inside move (which he is suppose to do on a 3rd and 4) naturally expecting help from the safety if the WR breaks long but Taylor was way too late in getting there. The other play was when he got burned covering the slot WR Andre Davis that set up Clevelands touchdown. I also notice that he sometimes goes for the big hit instead of wrapping up but that has not cost him yet since he is usually not the only person near the ball carrier. Hopefully he will learn with every play and become a star.

Ooops, well I guess everyone knows that I didn't watch the second half now.

for some reason safeties out of college take alittle bit to do better, even though theyre supposed to be instant impact, all new dbacks seem to make alot of rookie mistakes he just needs to get into the rythm, hes not the instant impact guy we thought he would be, but give it time and he will be a good man
