Post by America's Team »

will not lay down a bunch of smack - don't need to

redskins simply have issues trying to beat the 'boys. 1 of last 14?

every team has its demons

skins looked very lost offensively during the first half. not until 'boys lost hunter, one of the starting cb's, did 'skins start moving the ball through the air.

if the game was 61 minutes, redskins might have won...

I already know what our D can do...was here to give them props.

I think they underestimated our offense, but I doubt we will get any props for that.

agreed

'boys can certainly throw the ball - many weapons. keep vinny standing, and good things happen

worried about our pass defense now, with hunter out. that's a big deal.

No props..you need help as was evidenced by your need to change thing and run trick plays...good luck with that offense!

Bitter....not at all. I can see the big picture and the picture last night was us on the way up and you guys on the way down. I don't know what game you watched but the Boys fans I talked to today are quite concerned about your team. Funny I thought we were the ones who look at this as our SB...maybe your just happy with a W against the Skins??

to be clear, it's always fun to beat the skins.

that said, i don't have great expectations for this season. we have two starters out in our secondary and we don't have a running game right now. add that to a tough schedule, and it would be a HIGHLY successful season if the 'boys made it back to the playoffs.

as far as the skins on the way up, i like dallas' long-term prospects better than washington's: more solid young players on both sides (e.g. no 40-year-old starting OL'er), better cap situation. not quite seeing how wash is on the way up yesterday.

let's keep perspective. until hunter went out last night, brunell and his wr's looked HORRIBLE. brunell is not your answer, and no one seems to have any faith in ramsey, or he would have gotten that start last last. 'boys have vinny, who most everyone would prefer to brunell (isn't that sad?), and a guy in henson who COULD be the future.

At times???

Both played a mediocre if not an outright stinker of a game!

Neither team showed anything that could make us feel as play-off contendrs. We are establishing a new system but neither team shows to be a hallmark of their coaches.

I feel that both teams may improve getting a few players back but this season will be defined by the direction each team takes and not the results in the playoffs.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Concerned, yes, but on the way down, I really dont think so. Just as you, the boys had key injuries. We were without our starting Strong Safety, our number 1 pick, Julius Jones, and we lost our young Right Corner early in the ball game.

As I stated in my analysis, young guys like Witten and Bryant had huge games yesterday. We finally saw Tony Dixon make some plays, and Roy Williams was back doing what he does best.

With 2 number 1 draft picks, we will either get great value on the first day, or trade down and acquire more picks to shore up the defense.

Yes, we have holes, but on the way down....I dont think so.

As I said, I would make a post or two after the game no matter the outcome and then "make like a ghost and disappear". I'll be back when the Boys and Skins lace it up again in the Lone Star State.

Later...

skins in canada - props were given to each team's def. cannot say dallas def wasn't superior during the first half. skins def was also solid, would have been more so if LA was in.

Mostly good posts...understand we are in the first three games of the first season for Gibbs...he will continue to build the Skins in his image. Solid D and running game...a great QB has never been high on Gibbs list. Remember he's won three SB with three different QB. Henson is a ? JJ is a ? Your D is aging in spot, I do like your secondary..

dehog - agree on wash strengths. love portis. love your def (when healthy). OL needs to improve, though.

i think our oldest guy on def is woodson (34). next guy after that might be dat nguyen, who's only 30, so we're good on def age-wise. peace out.

Witten a big game?? Why because he caught a TD that's like saying George had a huge game. I wrote in my gameday matchup that Witten would spend much of the night helping control the Redskins blitz..he did and did it well.

Witten done did his job...and so did the Cowboys.

On the way down? You wish...we aren't mortgaging our future, remember? I know you wish that this were the case, but our owner is NOT Dan Snyder

Re-Statement:

He had a nice game picking up the blitz and had an absolutely huge touchdown.

No, he didnt have a ton of yards and catches, but in a game that close, every score counts.

Sup PrimeTime? When I get some free time at work, I am going to finish writing my next article "A Tale of Two Cities", which touches on some things you just mentioned.

Should be interesting....

Ill be back here posting in December

This supposed "mortgaging" of the future was the same tune they were singing about back in 2000..... 4 years later and the future's still going strong... Danny might not be the smartest when it comes to football personel.... but he is when it comes to money... so lets knock off the "your mortgaging your future" talk until it actually happens because it's a weak argument...

Is this a joke?!?!? The Cowpokes need a trick play to beat us, and they are full of crow?!?!??!

Let me break it to you clearly Cowboy Fans. The Cowboys and the Redskins (and prolly the Giants) are three mediocre teams in a one-team division.

wow, what good sports you are - thanks for proving my point chumps. 80% of Cowboy fans are bandwagon, braggarts with little football knowledge. It's sad that you feel the need to run to a Skins forum to talk smack. More than that, it shows your character, and lack thereof. What comes around goes around, one game does not a season make. I'm thought posting on and Cowboy fan theme... sick of the 80% residue.

One thing that I noticed throughout the game is that Parcells has a comfort level that probably comes with having been around a group of guys (for the most part) for better than a year.
Gibbs did okay, all things considered.
I think that now, having had some time to digest this and really get my nuts busted by the two dozen Cowboy fans I see day in and day out, I see this team as a work in progress.
I'm done with Dallas now until December, and am looking to Cleveland for our breakout game.
This is a team we absolutely need to beat.
How could you possibly explain away a loss to a team that has been just decimated by injury ?
This is a must-win, and I never, ever say that.
I'm saying it now. This is a must-win.
Not for standings, not for keeping up with the Joneses.
For our mental well-being.
