Gibbs/Parcells hand shake, if you can call it that.

Pokes grow up! The game is over and if you insist on insulting our coach for no good reason then you are going to soon be ignored around here. Gibbs talked to his assistant coaches because the are their to "assist" him. Look up the word assistant if you need further explaination on that one. And if you want to judge a coach about comebacks, let's talk Parcells. He came back in 1993 to the Patriots. His record that year was 5-11. He must be a real loser in your book if you are going to judge coaches on the year they return to the league????

a picture tells a thousand words and we have seen 2 pictures.... That wasn't a classy move by Gibbs period. On the other hand, if you don't like someone, why you have to shake his hand? Doesn't work that way in my book.
Don't get me wrong, it's my first post in this forum, but have been a Skins fan for over 20 years and BELIEVE ME when I say I'm behind Coach Gibbs 110%.

I'm inclined to believe joebagadonuts right now, and not that particular photo. All that photo really proves is that Gibbs was not looking at Parcells for part of the handshake. Who's to say that Gibbs didn't look at Parcells first (as it has been reported), perhaps even said something, but was just the first guy to look away?
Scottskums: Are you wishing upon a star when saying Gibby's 2nd term will cement him as the greatest coach that ever lived? Hell, maybe you could take your predictions and go live it up for a weekend in Vegas. Gibby was a good coach before free agency. Back when you could buy a player and keep him. That is how dynasties were born. A la Cowboys! This is a new era. And with Danny Boy Snyder running the show, Gibby will merely be another average coach. Hell, does Gibby even coach the team? Because all night long I saw Gibby asking Don Breaux and Gregg Williams all kinds of stuff? Are you sure he is not in over his head? Because he sure doesn't look very confident on the sidelines unless he is having a pow wow with his assistant head coach. Maybe he just needs to be coached up by Don and Gregg and spoon fed information.
Pokes4Life, I'm not a mod, but I know that you have been warned before by the mods to not make fun of other's screen names, or use swear words in a non-smack forum. In addition, the content of your posts continue to serve no real purpose in moving the conversation forward. . .how does what you say help the board at all?
jeremy81 was right on topic to begin with if you ask me. The refs stole the game, gave it to the Cowboys and the game ended in frustrating fashion. If I were Gibbs, it would have been hard to be magnanimus. He shook Parcells hand and left the field. I think Gibbs mind was on the missed opportunities and the FACT that the referees swiped 14 points and gave them all to the Cowboys. Sadly, the gloating that comes afterwards from Cowboy fans is the main reason I hate that team so much. They actually think they earned a victory. They play adult, mens, tee-ball in Dallas and pay umpires to call balls and strikes. Over 80% of Cowboy fans are bandwagon fans to begin with. Half of those are of the 'chump' variety. What comes around goes around - the refs can't steal them all for the Dallas Cowboys... the streak is dead.

Well said. I agree 100%. What ticks me off is watching around the horn and them talking about how Parcell's owns Gibbs and that crap. Of course they don't mention the horrible officiating that gave the Cowboys the game. As I sit here and type this, I just saw the sportscenter advertisement that said "at 6:00 tonight on sportscenter, has the game passed Gibbs by?" I would love to find these buttholes who produce these shows and beat them down.Scooter wrote:jeremy81 was right on topic to begin with if you ask me. I'd actually like to see Pasta-belly himself jump on this "Gibbs can't do it anymore" bandwagon even further than he already has. I want to hear some unmistakeably anti-Gibbs and anti-Redskins comments from him. I want to see the kinds of quotes that make me want to scream.
Why?
Because we all know that Gibbs will be back in full force. The American media is an impatient giant, and they'll jump down Gibbs' throat for his losses. Yeah, they'll jump on the bandwagon when we get really good under Gibbs, and start talking about how the game will never "pass him by."
But there will be Lenny, with about 6 articles (he's already written one or two) that just make him look as biased and stupid as he is.
Come on, Lenny, bring them on. Anything else that will make us look like the underdog is good for our team in the long run, in my humble opinion.

Everyone making a big deal over this is WRONG. I'm suprised no one came accross this earlier

"Nothing; I just told him he did a great job," Gibbs said, when asked what he said after losing to Parcells' Dallas Cowboys, 21-18, last night in the coaches' first meeting since 1990. "[The Cowboys] are an extremely well-coached team.
Someone on the skins made a cap of the scene from the game.
It shows that Joe does look at Bill and according to some papers...
