Just a message to all those who are getting antsy out there. It's time to shut up and get ready for some action against Dallas.

I don't want any fair weather fans rooting for the Redskins. That's what "America's Team" is for.

I feel the same way, R1974. It's time for people to learn to forget the past. I've lately been starting to come around to acting that way.

Too many people remember the past decade. Yes it's been bad, but things are differnet this season. At least after a loss like the one this past Sunday I don't fell all this gloom and doom like I did before. That means one thing, Joe Gibbs. The guy has been a winner every stop in his life. There is no doubt in my mind he will be sucessful in his second stint in DC. Be patient and give Joe a chance to get this team firing on all cylinders. It will be real fun to watch fellas!

I feel the same way too, I hate fair weather fans of any team, Where is the loyalty? I have been a Redskins fan since 1968 and always will be no matter what.. HTTR

I've been a fan almost as long, redskindave, since 1971, but just a little "history lesson" for the folks that may be inclined to worry, when Joe came to the Redskins in 1981, he went 0-5, then adjusted his scheme to the personnel that he had, finished the season 8-8, and the next season, without any significant changes in the team members, he won his first Super Bowl, and again the next season, with just a bit more "tinkering" with the offensive scheme, the Redskins went to the Super Bowl again... so don't think that Joe will not find a way to succeed, the one benefit from having so many lousy years is that there's an awful lot of talent on the team, there's just been a lack of good coaching in the past decade (especially the last two years!), but THAT is a thing of the past. Joe may take a few more games to be able to see what he's actually got, but he'll make the adjustments and the team will start to get better, and without going through a "rebuilding" process, which Joe has already said that he wasn't looking to do. I expect that they'll start to come on later in the season, and next year, with a full year to have learned the offensive scheme and to un-learn the "Spurrier" garbage, we'll have a truly competitive team, one that I would look to see in the playoffs, even if they don't go too far. I just see the next few years as being a bright spot for us all. Hang in there, don't worry, it'll get a LOT better, just wait and see!

I also have been a fan for a little over 30 years and I would only add that it's so good to have a team that looks so close (after 2 weeks...I know) to being a good team.

I watched the game in a great bar in Ocean City, MD (BJ's) where most of the fans (and the staff!) were wearing Skins gear and the fight song is played after every score. The owner (Billy T.) wasn't there because he was at the game! I had the best time (outside of being at a game) I could remember for years. You all know why... we have a good team again!
I reminded some disapointed fans towards the end of the game that it had been a long time since we had a team that was still "in the game" at the end. I know we lost BUT I can remember a lot of games we won when we were not the best team on the field.
Now it's Dallas week and you know what - for the first time in many years I think we will win because we deserve to win, not because we might get lucky! These players and these coaches are going to make us proud again.

Hey I've had my moments of depression and anger too. The bottom 10 moments? Nah, why go there at all. The Skins will be fine. We're already better than we were last season.

My dad has been a fan since the late 60's, and I have been since the latter half of the 90's (it took me too long to settle down with one team--I was more of a football fan back then, and had "loyalties" with the Eagles, Packers, and even the Jets at times).

No other team than Washington for me, though. So luckily I'll be able to carry the tradition from my dad and hopefully (no, definitely

) to my kids.

I'm already crapping my pants this weekend in anticipation of the game. It's going to be a messy couple of days.

I was born a fan or at least as long as I can remember. My dad got me into them. He's originally from Pennsylvana so thankfully he didn't route for the Wiggles. His brother's a huge Steelers fan... I guess I got lucky by him moving here in the late 60s.
