That's an excellent question. One reason is because we're wasting our time with Ramsey. Hasselbeck could get better if he practiced with the starters more. Hasselbeck should be the one getting primed for a future starting job, not Ramsey. If not Hasselbeck, I suggest drafting a QB next year.
ROTFALMAO so if we were busy with a draft bust, why didn't 31 other teams see how "great" 0.0 is? i suppose we are the only team in the nfl who had a chance to look at "lame duck boy"?

Sorry, but TH is not the answer. He is nothing more than a good 3rd option. He couldn't even make it as Philly's # 3. I would say he's improved enough to be a 3. Never anything more than that with Brunell and Ramsey on the team.

Brunell needs to start against Dallass. The way they blitz, we don't need Ramsey in there. I like Ramsey. He's just not efficient enough yet and can't make teams pay when they blitz.

Ramsey is too scared about getting hit, if he feels pressure, he just throws it away.

That is the funniest thing I've heard. When was the last time you've seen him throw the ball away?

I think you meant, when he feels pressure he either throws an INT, or starts to go down before he gets hit because he's so dag on shellshocked. The boy looked scared.

Look, if the Redskins are going to have immediate success, we are going to have be a version of the 2000 Ravens. The defense has allowed one touchdown in two games. All we need the offense to do is not completley screw the rest of the team over. If Ramsey didn't make such terrible decisions last week, I would vote for him (because other than the three interceptions, he looked good). But while Ramsey may be more likely to throw a touchdown, he is definetly more likely to throw an interception.

Dallas is NOT going to score a lot of points on our defense. We just need someone who is going to give them points while we are on offense...

I think Ramsey should be getting the start becasue the more he plays, the sooner he'll be better at making the correct judgments. Obviously he had a terrible terrible game but showed flashes of great talent. Unfortunately he will start only if Brunelll is still hurt. Brunell can't get the ball downfield very well and Gibbs' offense needs to get the occasional big play after he set's up the defense. Brunell's contract is gonna keep him starting until he completely implodes. However Hasselback would have won that game in all likelihood. Hasselback is the kind of guy you can put in the game in relief of the starter and he raises his game. As a starter I don't think he can continually perform.

Can we bring out of retirement:

a) S. Jurgensen?

b) B. Kilmer?

c) J. Theisman?

d) Any of the above as a starter?

e) All of the above to replace the current trio?

Ramsey was the same way his first time learning Spurrier's offense and than he broke out. I am not worried at all. Why is everyone for Hasselback does everyone forget he only won one game as a starter and it was to a Giants team that lost almost there whole starting lineup. Hasselback can't play with a first string he is were he should be third Qb or practice team.

Ramsey looked like crap but Brunell didn't look good ethier. Lot of Ramsey's problems you can teach and take care of. Brunell's you can't teach. I would start Ramsey because this is a rebuilding year, we barely beat the Bucs and they are a crappy team. Another crappy team had their way with us. Gibbs is a great coach but he is not GOD. Were not going to tear it up. Our o-line needs a lot of work, the guards were terrible against the Giants, they exsposed our lack of pass rush, our lb's have barely been playing together (and it showed last week) they constantly threw over the middle and other short passes, teams are going to start to find ways to exspose our blitzes and we are going to have to adjust. Our recievers drop a lot of passes not just Gardener. I would say 8-8 or 9-7. I think we will see more of this the next couple of weeks and than finish really strong.

Ramsey :D

I agree with you John, you put it quite well.

Ramsey just needs play time and coaching, with those 2 things he could be unstoppable, he already has a great arm and the competitive spirit.

Just remember how all the great QBs in NFL history started...... some didn't even start for years and when they did they were terrible. We have to have confidence in Gibbs to teach him and I think Ramsey is willing and eager to learn. One thing I hate is a QB shuffle or controversy. I believe if you put a guy in and let him know HE is your QB no matter what then he will play with MUCH more confidence and there is a great amount of stress he is relieved from, and we all know that you will perform MUCH better under less stress.

I do think Brunell is a very solid QB, but he is definitely past his prime and Ramsey is the future.

Brunell because when Ramsey came into the game yesterday it didn't impress me at all. 3 INTs. Come on. And 7 turnovers the whole game. That is just ridicolous.

I agree with that but the things Ramsey does...

They're high school QB mistakes. He's missing the fundamentals of the QB position, and if he hasn't learned them in his years as a pro why is he going to start now? Throwing into double coverage, not throwing the ball away, he's not a rookie anymore.

I will say that his mobility has improved since last year. He steps up in the pocket, and moves a bit more. I used to harp about that faithfully.

I hate to say it but, Ramsey is the man. He knows how to move the ball. The man comes in and we march. Brunell and his three and outs is killing me. I liked when the Giants stacked 8 in the box and P-Ram aired it out to Gardner, besides Ram and Coles have something together.

Thats a good point... Its just that INT's kill a defense. I dont know if I want the 3 and outs or 2-3 INT's a game. Our defense has been HAWT but we can't afford to tire them out before the half because of turnovers. We need them, they're all we have right now.

Yeah I know. I think Patrick is confused. He once held on to the ball to long, now his INTs are killing drives. I think we prep him this week and see how he does in practice or maybe let him and Hasselbeck have a small comp this week.

....Maybe we can get PRam to march us down the field and let Hasselbeck take it to the endzone via McCants

I still don't understand why people don't see the greatness lurking beneath the skin of PRam. He had a pretty good season last year and over the last two years, he's had 23 TDs and 17 Ints. Nowhere near Vinny's first years of Ints...

The only knock statistics-wise is his completion %. Credit that to Spurrier not running many dumpoff plays like most teams do.

Yes PRam looks like a deer in the headlights. Yes he makes poor decisions. I would too after the pressure I'd been under ever since I got in the NFL. He has to gain confidence in the protection. That will take time. Yes his feet are slow. It's getting better, and not all great QBs have good feet.

PRam is going to be a major stud for us. All of you guys talking about how he sucks, remember these days when he becomes great, and eat your crow accordingly.

And btw, while Ramsey is starting next week, because Brunell is still not 100%, I do think if Brunell was healthy, he should be the starter for now.

PRam is the future, and it's a very very bright future at that ;-)

Ramsey is the future of this club. That's not an issue. He has to get de-"Spurrierized", and it's going to take some time. Let's be real, you don't un-learn two years of bad coaching in the course of one pre-season and less than 1/2 of one game. We all accepted that this would be an 8-8 or 9-7 year, so let's keep our heads and let the man learn the system by playing the game. If Joe Gibbs didn't see a lot of potential, don't you think that Ramsey would've been shown the door? And how many of us honestly think that we are better at evaluating talent than the guys that do it for a living? As to Ramsey, remember what he was able to do last year under a pathetic coach, with a pathetic coaching staff and a dismal offensive scheme that left him sitting on his ..., well, it didn't leave him standing up after most plays. He shows a lot of potential, and with time, experience and Joe Gibbs, that young man is going to be something to watch.
R.I.P. Andrew McDonough 9/3/92 - 7/14/07. Love & miss you, #20.

I hope Brunell is healthy come Monday. Ramsey just doesn't look confident right now to me. He had alot of chances to pull that game out on Sunday, and failed. He has me worried a little bit right now.
