Kellen "broken" Winslow

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Kellen "broken" Winslow

Post by skinz74 »

ESPN is reporting that Kellen Winslow could have a fractured leg. They are reporting that he could be gone for the season, but will be gone for at least 6-8 weeks. Hmm...

Man, sure glad we went with Taylor over Winslow, even if Taylor isn't playing that much.

Actually, it seems they will be getting him 5 million less, since he likely won't make the performance incentives tied to a 5 million dollar roster bonus.

I heard something about Winslow trying to say he'd screw up Gibbs and the Skins' for not drafting him. If true, he's going to be eating his words. I don't care how good he may be, he'll never surpass his dad.

It looks like the only thing Winslow screwed up, was his contract.

Looks like the Poston's might be losing another client. I wouldn't expect them to be around much if Winslow doesn't get his money. Weren't they just fired by Orlando Pace?
I wouldn't expect Lavar to keep them around once he loses his hearing on his contract.

Like most people his age, Kellen Winslow is guilty only of having spoken too soon. It's a clear sign of immaturity, and he will outgrow it. He has no choice. This league makes a grown-up out of you, with only a few notable exceptions.

Stick a fork in him he's done

Browns | Winslow's Season Over - from www.KFFL.com
Tue, 28 Sep 2004 19:08:32 -0700

Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow Jr. (leg, ankle) will need to have surgery Wednesday, Sept. 29, to stabilize a sprain of the high ankle ligaments. This is being done to prevent laxity, head trainer Mike Colello said. Due to the procedure, Winslow will be out for the remainder of the 2004 season.

Inferiority complexes stemming from the funny name of their chosen position. Same thing for wide receivers. Fullbacks are mostly self-concious, but they're not trying to compensate for anything.

MORE BAD NEWS FOR WINSLOW

Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns tight end Kellen Winslow's total financial loss resulting from a broken leg suffered on a late-game onside kick in Week Two could be more than $10 million.

In addition to the loss of the $5.367 million incentive that Winslow's agents considered to be guaranteed money, Winslow's absence for 14 of 16 games this year will keep him from triggering the first of a series of escalators that, in the end, could cause him to lose $5.215 million in future base salaries.

In all, then, the contract's supposedly no-brainer value of $40 million now stands at $29.4175 million.

With that said, the far more grievous error was the failure of Winslow's agents, Carl and Kevin Poston, to ensure that the $5.367 million incentive trigger rolls over into future seasons.

So do we feel bad for Winslow? No. He knew what he was getting into when he hired the Postons, especially since the decision was made after the conflict regarding LaVar Arrington's contract extension came to light -- and after the Postons admitted that they didn't read the final draft.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

He'll definately fire the Poston Brothers if that contract really is worth less than 30 million
 "He should be paid like a no.1 pick ROTFALMAO

Comparing him to Shockey will do no good.

I think you are agreeing with TC.... (notable exceptions)
Winslow will have the rest of the year to watch the Pros and maybe even learn from them. If not he can just count the money he lost and wonder if this was one of the reasons the Skins said "don't pick the Postons as your agents"
