Do you like our current uni's? If so why? If not why? and what would you like to see us wear?

I definetly vote for the spear uniforms. Our burgundy uniforms are hideous, but I like our whites...

I CAN'T for the life of me see why ya'll like those hideous throwback spear uniforms. When we cam out with our "new" uniforms, they were, and are, the BEST looking in the NFL, or any other sport I can think of.
Funny thing about the emblem, though, it actually comes from Carlisle, they've had a thing called the Jim Thorpe Trail forever, and that's what they had on all the signs forever.
That's just one mere reason to keep EXACTLY what we've got.
Look around, who do you think has a better rig than ours?

Don't make me-you won't like what I'm selling.....
Personally, I always liked the Allen-Pardee era uniform: Redskin face helmet, gold pants, and either white or burgundy shirt.
But: whatever Gibbs decides if fine with me. I think he had some reason for always wearing the road uniform, if he had a choice. Probably some study that showed a QB could see a receiver slightly better if the receiver was wearing a white jersey...I don't know...

Well, rumors had it that he chose to wear white so the Cowboys would be forced to wear their darks, but the real reason Gibbs chose white is because quarterbacks have an easier time picking up the whites.
I've always wondered how true that is. The Michigan helmet design was also supposed to make it easier for quarterbacks to identify recievers...

Well, I respectfully disagree. First, the Redskins' colors are burgundy and gold. Any uniform we wear should have those colors; not yellow and off red. Also the helmets should have burgundy and gold. Not yellow! I think Gibbs should make up his own design after this season; hopefully using burgundy and gold.

I have been watching the Skins since 1969 and don't really want to have the spear back thank you very much. Have grown accustomed to the Brave Skin and like him just fine on our helmuts.
Colors could be closer to Burgandy and Gold, with Gold pant - but more of a yellow gold not brown gold.
Just for God's sake, NO ALL WHITE PLEASE!!!!! Sorry SkinsChic and NikiH

As long as there is no talk about changing the team's name I don't care that much about what they are wearing. Sure I like the current Uni's better. I think the arrowhead makes us look like FSU or something. And I'm sure when and if the skins start winning again the public outcry against racial sports names will begin. I just hope the danny can see past it and for once in his life do nothing.

Part of the original reason why Gibbs went with white for that first game against Dallas was the heat factor. White shirts are cooler. Many teams start the year wearing white at home (in Week 1, CLE, CAR, HOU, MIA, NYJ and PHI did it) but switch to the dark about midway through the season.
But once he saw them, he liked the look and stuck with it.
One thing that bugged me was it was basically all you saw when most other teams still go with dark at home.
Like this year. In the 16 games, they'll be wearing white-on-offred at least 14 times.
The only "if" game is Oct. 3 at Cleveland. I think that's early enough in the season where the Browns will still be wearing white at home.

I hate those spear helmets!!!!!!!!! They look too much like Florida State. I don't think, at least I hope, that Gibbs would ever use those arrow helmets again. I like the burgundy pants with the white shirts and the gold pants with burgundy shirts with the indian head logo on the helmets. NO ARROWS on the helmet!!!!!!!!!
Let us all gather around and drink the

I absolutely hated the spears. Looked like some KC rip-off. Great Shades Of Schottemheimer, 1 A.D !
Bah ! Give me the whites. The Burgundy is a little too bland, but I have a feeling the team will make even those look real good this year.

Trust me, if Gibbs has them wear white, he, like EVERYONE ELSE that does it, does it so that Dallas can't wear theirs.Steve Spurrier III wrote:welch wrote:But: whatever Gibbs decides if fine with me.
