S. Davis out for a few weeks!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

S. Davis out for a few weeks!

The Carolina Panthers' road to the defense of the NFC title has taken a major hit.

Panthers head coach John Fox told FOXSports.com that the Panthers Pro Bowl running back Stephen Davis will undergo arthroscopic surgery Friday afternoon on his knee that will keep him out for two to five weeks.

Davis has had some swelling in the knee since the preseason when he was forced to miss the third preseason game.

DeShaun Foster will now get the start for the Panthers.

"He got an MRI yesterday and they've decided to scope it today," said one Panthers official. "We should be all right with DeShaun though."

Still, losing Davis for a ground-oriented attack is extremely costly, especially since Carolina's other top offensive option, receiver Steve Smith, is out indefinitely after breaking his leg against the Packers on Monday night.

That's too bad, still have a soft spot for Davis, especially since he was a casualty of the Spurrier Experiment.

Im really high on Portis, but I'd love to have Davis behind this line. That'd be phenomonal.

If Ahmad Green didn't suffer from fumblitis, he'd kill behind our line too.

I still like Davis, but I'll take anything that helps playoff positioning!
