Canada Wins 3-2

Post by BossHog »

Well I heard a lot of smack going into the World Cup... but not so much now...

Canada polished off a dominant performances at the world cup hockey torurnament Tuesday, with a 3-2 victory over a tough Finnish team.

We would have rather beat the American's in the final so we didn't have to listen to any excuses, but hey, we'll take the gold regardless.

Wingman... where you at? You WERE interested in this tournament... oh yeah, that's right... the U.S kacked a furr ball and you've given up watching.

Wayne Gretzky as head of the Canadian team... 2-0 for golds.

The man just keeps adding to his long list of accomplishments. This team had a lot of young guys that had some media pundits openly questioning the 'great one's' decision making ability.

Not anymore, especially considering that some of those same players were some of the top performers in the tournament. Great tourney from Joe Thornton, Vinny LeCavalier, Shane Doan, Scott Hannan, Jay Bouwmeister and Ryan Smyth.

Well considering that 4 of the best defensemen in the world were NOT playing for team Canada... this was a very impressive. To be able to win with Chris Pronger, Al McInnis, Rob Blake AND Wade Redden (lost early in the tournament) all out of the line-up, is a testament to the quality and depth that Canada has.

And it showed.

A lot of GOOD beer consumed in Canada yesterday.

Congrats eh? that's what it's all a-boot.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

I hear ya BossHog, what a great win. To bad I didn't get to see it, I was at work all night. However, I would run into the lounge every so often to keep updated.
I don't think this was as big as a win as the Olympics but still a gold is a gold. After the win in Salt Lake the streets of Toronto were insane. Everyone running and jumping on cars...angry americans driving by almost hit us once.
A friend of mine actually has a picture with LeClaire after the game in a Utah bar, you should see how happy he is.
And don't forget we didn't have Jovo either...I really like Ryan R.(not going to attpemt to spell his last name) young defenceman from the Flames.
Pete Kendall is a MAN and a half..

Congrats Boss and to all Canadians. Not a surprise that the US didn't go all the way. The Times reports the NHL may lock out today so that's another reason I don't follow hockey much. Again, congrats with the victory! =D>
