A truly remarkable site addition
Well... occasionally I make announcements about site changes and modifications... usually, they are well received. Today, i am launching perhaps the best innovation the site has yet to come up with.
For months I have been working on a new News section. We realize how important it is for all of our surfers and die hard Reskin fans to stay on top of what's going on in Redskin World.
I embarked on a learning journey that i could have never foreseen and to be honest, at many points it was becoming slow torture trying to accomplish my goals.
... but I finally cracked the egg. And I think what I was left with will stand as the best source of Redskin News on the net... as we like to say... all the Redskin News that's fit to link. The page itself constantly scours the internet for brand new Redskin headlines and it updates every 15 minutes or so, giving you a one-stop Redskin news Portal... all links are even complete with publish date and time as well as a brief description.
You will find 5 sections of links...
1) Around the net - this updates every 15 minutes and will ALWAYS have the very latest Redskin headlines from around the internet.
2) official Redskins - self-explanatory... links to stories at Redskins.com
3) Washington Post - 10 latest headlines from the WP
4) Washington Times - 10 latest headlines from TWT
5) ESPN - around the NFL news from ESPN
All of this information is neatly arranged (hopefully) on to a page and quite frankly, should be your first stop every morning in your search for what's going on in redskin-land.
I would like to also point out as a board ramification that the need for posting news links in the forums has suddenly grown less important. It will be hard to not be scooped by the portal.
Please use the feature religiously because I cannot tell you how long and hard I worked to come up with exactly what we had in mind. I have even set up a separate gateway page for you all in case you would like to bookmark it, heck, even make it your home page.

There is also a new link in the left navigation of the main page that takes you to the same page.
Your comments are as always, welcome... positive or negative.

Yeah, I think it's pretty cool. A good tool for anyone who bleeds burgundy and gold.
I hope you all like it, and like I said, use it.
I also snuck in a couple of new sections... an archives section to try and keep links to many of the great sections of the site that tend to find their way out of the navigation when they are no longer timely...
... and I re-did (am re-doing) the history section. It's not complete yet, but I thought what was there was better than the previous History section which I threw together when I started the site. There is lots more to come in that section in the way of interviews and profiles etc.
But neither of those sections compares to the new News Section... we hope it will be a hot feature for all Redskin fans on the net.

BossHog that totally rocks! I am so impressed and cannot imagine how much you worked your butt off for that to come together. Thank you!

I've been checking out this board all pre-season and I just want to say Thanks! I'm 32 now and have been going to redskins games since I had to stand on the seat to see the field and have also been to last 3 Skins superbowls! I have recently moved to Melbourne, Florida ( I just got my power back) and am going through withdraw! Can someone tell me if Fed-Ex Field has yet to aquired the energy that RFK had? As for this site,I want to say how impressive this new "News" section. As a web designer myself I can definately appreciate the work put into it! Major cudos to you! Thanks Again It is now my new Home Page! You all are my lifeline!
Long Live the Skins!

Boss,
WAY COOL!!!Thanks VERY much.
I used the link you posted, because I couldn't find the link you referred to on the homepage. Will there be a place where I can hit that link in the future? I access the site from different places during the day, so adding this to someone else's favorites isn't really the coll thing to do....
Once again, righteous job!

Don't make me-you won't like what I'm selling.....
There should be a link that says Redskins' news on the main page... if your browser is still showing the old left navigation frame, you might want to try hitting CTRL F5 to make sure you load the page from the server as opposed to from your computer's cache.
Glad y'all like it... makes me feel a little better about squandering so much of my life trying to get it to work.
... and welcome LTSF. Stay safe down there in Fla.

... and now there's a link at the bottom of the footer of the message board with the rest of the links to sections of the main site.
But you still should always be able to get to it from the main page. (I hope, lemme know if you can't). People have to learn to go to the site first and then come to the board. I don't have the time to post everything on the board that I post/change or add to the site... but we've always got something on the go.

Thanks all.
I am a web designer cvillehog... well, I'm more of a hack really. I spend a lot of time learning only enough to conquer Redskin projects.
I do oaccasionally have to squeeze in some actual web work though to try and pay for this bad habit.
