Shaun Alexander Injured in Seattle victory

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Shaun Alexander Injured in Seattle victory

Post by 1niksder »

Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander left Sunday's 21-7 win over New Orleans on Sunday at the Superdome with a right knee sprain. Alexander, who scored three touchdowns, ran for 135 yards and two scores on 28 carries, before getting hurt late in the game. He scored twice in the second quarter to put Seattle ahead 14-0. His 14-yard reception capped an eight-play, 76-yard drive. Alexander added a six-yard touchdown run with 6:38 remaining in the second quarter. His dive -- just inside the left pylon -- capped a four-play, 48-yard drive. His nine-yard TD run, with 3:06 left in the third quarter, capped the scoring. Alexander, in his fifth season with the Seahawks, has rushed for 4,376 yards and 48 touchdowns.

Associated Press reports Seattle Seahawks RB Shaun Alexander (knee) had his knee wrapped after the team's game Sunday, Sept. 12. Alexander said he was still sore, but noted doctors told him his knee was all right. "Nothing hurt worse than when the doctors were tugging at it and all," Alexander said. "But I'm assuming I'm going to be all right." Head coach Mike Holmgren also said he thought Alexander's knee injury was minor.
