Who is YOUR favorite modern day redskin, and why?

Arrington obviously. Basically because he's a modern day LT without the discipline. Once he gets that, which he will, he'll be more respected than Ray Lewis(who is also another LT).

I could list a million reasons, but mostly because he is one of the best technically-sound Tackles in the league. Certainly the most under-rated even according to Michael Strahan. That's how it started---him shutting down Strahan.

Ricky Sanders - Don't really have a reason. He was the first player to become my "favorite player." I first met him in 1992. He was always really cool to meet and talk to. Also because of Ricky, my favorite number became 83.

Tydus Winans - Like I said, #83 was my favorite number and Tydus replaced Ricky with that number and that made him special in my book. He was never the type to not talk to the fans and sign autographs. Tydus always remembered me and wouldn't pass up and autograph for me. He was with the team from 1994-1996. Eventually, I got his email address and we talk from time to time. Pure class. He became the second inductee into my list of all time favorite players.

Chris Samuels - When we drafted him, I din't know too much about him except that he was a big, talented tackle from Alabama who was supposed to go very high in the first round. As preseason rolled around, he became my favorite player. I played o-line and d-line for my football team so I chose 60. I think he really became a favorite player during week 1 when I got to go back in the players parking lot andI met his mom and his brothers. Lawrence Samuels, who plays for the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena League, was one of the brothers I met. Like the previous two players I mentioned, Chris is pure class, so he became my 3rd inductee into my list of "favorite players".

Darnerien McCants - I had heard of D-Mac before the 2001 Draft because my local paper (The Capital) ran an article with a big picture on Darnerien being this rookie from Delaware State looking for a chance in the NFL. I threw the paper away but when we drafted him, I went over to my grandparents' house and got the paper because they save old papers for a couple of days. Darnerien played for Arundel High School, a rival team of my South River Seahawks. That was also something new because I don't know of any other people besides Bill Belichick (Annapolis High) that were from my county, played high school football in the school district and made it into the NFL. I first met D-Mac in his rookie training camp in 2001. He wore #19 I told him he's going to be the next Keyshawn but without the mouth. He then replied "Nah, I'm going to be the first Darnerien McCants." Can't argue with that. :lol:

Darnerien became my favorite player this year because after years of signing autographs for my mom and I and being a really cool player to talk to, he deserves it. So, he is the fourth member of my very exclusive "Favorite players" list.

I have alot of favorites but of late two are emerging above the others. Brandon Noble because that man is a beast to come back from an injury like that so very fast!
And Chris Cool

ey. I just see stardom in this guy. I can see him being the kind of player other teams under estimate only to have it stuffed in their face on game day. Yet this kid is very modest. I don't know if anyone checked out his training camp diary on the Redskins site but it showed a side of him that you'd never see from say Lavar or Clinton. He is a down to earth guy.

Tough question at this time. I haven't seen enough of all of the "starters" - The three newest Redskins I'm looking at most often are - Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis and Joe Salave'a.
Taylor is the safety I wish we'd had for nearly a decade. Portis runs with guts and Salave'a was written off by the rest of the NFL - he's been OUTSTANDING in the middle. I'm too excited/ greedy/ to pick one guy. I can hear the clock ticking and the little hairs on the back of my neck are slowing waking up!

Lavar Arrington, he is just a straight up beast. Ever since he interception and run back against carolina in that 0-5 start I've been a fan.

So far, Sean Taylor. An easy choice, but I like Lavar, too. Here's a guy (wow, I sound like Madden) who's had a different coordinator every season of his pro career, and he's kept a positive attitude.

But I like those two because if they make a hit, and their uniform number is obscured, you STILL know it's them. Especially Lavar. No other Redskin hits like him. It just different, not sure how to describe it.

GO SKINS! Man, am I excited.
