Suprise Player........

Post by skin_to_the_bone »

Who do you think is the biggest suprise this year heading into Week One.

Honestly, I didn't think Taylor was gonna be as good as he is. He's my vote. And I know a lot of you are saying, that was just preason and all, but come on! This guy is gonna be a force from the start like Roy Williams was for the pukes.

Its still a tough choice for me though because of the likes of Peirce and McCollough stepping up. Betts did nicely as did Cooley. Who would have thaught Cooley was the best TE out of the draft so far? Honestly I thaught he would be good but not this good.

So My vote goes to Taylor with Cooley a close second.

:feedback;
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

I can't pick Taylor, because the question was "Who will be a surprise?" and I don't think he he fits the bill. All the talk was that he is the best safety to come out since Ronnie Lott, so he can hardly be called surprising. I guess I'd have to say Pierce. He has really excelled in Barrow's absence. He may even keep Barrow on the bench when he gets healthy if he keeps playing this way.

I second the Pierce nomination. Is the NFL Network showing the Falcon preseason game today - anyone know?

Ok mine is a little less obvious. I have to say Derrick Dockery. Being one of the solid veteran's on the line, said by a game announcer the other night, he is doing darn well for being a 2nd year lineman. He and Molinaro shocked me the other night. So my vote is Dockery. The less you hear about an O-line member the better they must be doing, right?

Yeah, Taylor is a surprise, but not a huge one. Everyone was talking him up before, so he's not the biggest. He's just surprising because of the bad bad start he got before he even played.

I like Dockery's improvement as well, but he did fairly well last season, and is just improving at a nice rate.

So my vote would have to go to Pierce. Where did this guy come from? He's making a very strong case to put Barrow in the 4th spot. While that probably won't happen, like Williams said, he'll be on the field a lot. I expect him to be the 3 guy next season.

Ade Jimoh.
I'm surprised he made the team.
Other than that, Taylor is no shocker. Pierce was always solid for us anyway. I guess I'd have to say Ramsey. I really thought the competition would make him a better quarterback. He didn't do a thing until they said, "Brunell is the starter".

I believe that Joe Salave'a and Brandon Noble, are both going to be big surprises this upcoming season.
I think Salave'a will return to his younger days...which wasn't too long ago.
And I already like the looks of Noble, his attitude is great. PLaying the preseason with a broken hand ranks really hig in my books.
Although I've yet to see them both play, I think that they should be a good force in the middle of that so called 'questionable' d-line.

How did Jimoh make the team??????

He ruined my perfect picks for cuts, now I am only 9 of 10.

I will gaurantee that he costs us one game with a blown coverage or two.

Oh by the way put me down for Taylor also.

I'm split between Griffin and Daniels - I think we might see a lot better run defense with those two in there - and we saw a taste, a tease of that during the Falcons game.

This will immediately affect the linebackers allowing Arrington and Washington to move more freely without having Offensive linemen in their faces.

Also, as the coordinator of one of the best defenses in the league states - IT IS THE LINE AND THE RUSH which will help or hinder the coverage, not the other way around.

So I think if you see Daniels and Griffin demanding 3-4 players to block the two of them, it will be a huge asset to the entire defense.

Taylor Jacobs

Post by Redskin in Canada »

Taylor Jacobs!

I am not even going to argue about it.

Please mark this prediction when this generation of WRs is compared to the "smurfs" and the "possee".

M. Brunell will love his speed.

L. Coles will enjoy the attention being diverted away from him too!

I will bring this post up as a reminder to all of you guys. But I must admit the names brought up are great names as well. It is a tough choice.

Maybe Jimoh is the easy cut to make if we sign a free agent, and Joe just wanted to give the other guys a chance to latch on elsewhere.

i'll vote kenyatta jones. as long as we don't hear his name too often, then he's done what's been asked of him. if he can make us forget about the loss of jansen, then he definantly gets my vote.

Hey 666....I thought the guys said you weren't as mean as you sounded. "selling crack to kids" are you kidding me, funny, but ridiculous.

Anyway, My vote is for P Ram. I for one thought he would out shine brunell. He is young, has a chip on his shoulder about Brunell being brought in at all, and definetly has something to prove. I just hope we keep him-he is still the quarterback of the future. In other words, I hope all the talk from Joe Gibbs isnt just talk about how much he likes P RAM.
