Armstead out for the year

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Armstead out for the year

Post by skin_to_the_bone »

The Carolina Panthers acquired offensive lineman Todd Fordham (right) from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a conditional draft choice, placed linebacker Jessie Armstead and defensive tackle Shane Burton on injured reserve, released three players, including tackle Melvin Tuten, and waived 13 others to reach the mandatory 53-player roster limit for the regular season.

Tough luck for Jessie. He's a true leader. ESPN2's ticker tape has it listed as a shoulder injury and he's out for the season.

That sucks for Armstead. I'm truly sorry to hear that.

He'll probably come back for a year or two more after the injury if he isn't contimplating retirement now. His competitive nature will more than likely bring him back for at least one more year.

Yeah I feel bad for him too. Not many people play with his passion when they reach his age.

Darnit. Not only do we release him before I can get my Armstead avater, which I still might get regardless what people think, but he goes and injures himself. I wonder if his deal expires after 1 year. Maybe we can get him back.

With all due respect, Smithian, I wouldn't want him back. I think our LB crew is heading in the right direction...and if we take Armstead back, we're going backwards...in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I really like the guy....I just think he is wrong for our team right now.

I'm in total agreement with Justice here. Yet, I will add to the notion that when its all said and done ( his career)....he would be a great coach. I wouldn't mind seeing him return here in that type of capacity at all.

Get well Soon Jessie!

Too bad, hate to see this happen. Liked Jesse when he was here and wish him a speedy recovery.

Liked Jessie when he was here, glad to see him go when he lost a couple of steps - wasn't helping in the position... Glad that he didn't get hurt on our team when we were depending on him to fill the position. I hope he gets better soon and feels better...

Armstead was our best LB last year.

I wouldn't argue with you there, but this year he would have been odd man out.
