Call Him Mr. Cooley

Post by redskins56 »

When people think of the best pass catching TE to come out of the draft, everyone thinks about K2. Fact of the matter is, he isn't the best. I really think Chris Cooley is the top receiving TE to come out this year, maybe up there with Shockey for best in a long time.

He doesn't drop passes, is hard to bring down, and makes plays once he gets the rock. He's a handful for defenders because he is faster than LB's and stronger than covering DB's. He's made some impressive plays in the preseason, and he's shown some real powerful running. For a large guy though, he has shifty feet and some elusive qualities. I'm really anamored with this kid...

Ohh and he doesnt cuss out reporters, whine about not going in the top five, pout about getting offered a record contract, houldout a month, talk trash to his teammates or give his coaches head aches...

Just some added bonuses...

In my book that's the "Total Package". He's a great pickup for us and I think he's gonna have a great career.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

He made some great plays Vs. the Falcons last night. I didn't realize how big he was until then. He's going to have a monster year.

They say his "blocking" isn't the best, but we have other good "blocking" TE's so we can just mix it up!

He COULD be the Hybrid Diesel. I really like what this kid gives to this offense.

You know, watching that first quarter reminded me of watching the Indians beatdown of the Yankees. I enjoyed both immensely.

Yeah he is a great player. Definitely better then getting Whine Winslow anyday.
I don't know if you guys caught it but on Redskins.com he actually did a diary during camp. He is very humble. Which explains why he hasn't given us any problems! ;-)

The Skins definitely made the right choice. Cooley is way better than that cry baby wuss Winslow, who is a spoiled child. The Skins did the right thing when they chose Taylor, who replaces Champ as a dominating DB who can make plays. Then they got the H back that they needed in Cooley. Cooley will definitely outshine that Winslow idiot.

Good hands, and can run with the ball. Plus at camp, he was very personable. LIke this kid a lot. Maybe we should contact him and try to get him on theHogs.net as a regular "Redskin" member. He may go for it. Jake are you listening.

NC This kid is very humble. He'd probably find it a great privlage to be a member of a group like this. If only that darn email a Redskins feature would work! :-(

Wingman, your thongs are on too tight. Yankees will be in the postseason. Indians will not.
Anyway, Cooley has had one or two good games. I'm not ready to let Rasby go quite yet. Still, it's a nice problem to have, isn't it ?

I have to say Winslow is the Total Package...
1. Whined about a team that didn't draft him
2. He came into camp late
3. Demanded more money than any player at his postion has ever been paid
4. Bad mouthed his new team
5. Bad mouthed his new teammates
6. This weekend he finally was named the starting TE (due to injury) and he caught ONE pass for 7 yards....then fumbled the ball.
If that ain't the total package of problems I don't know who could be worst for a team

Cooley was in camp before the 3 TEs drafted before him (the only one in on time). He has a workmans attitude that will take him far with Gibbs and Co.

Scottskins, welcome to the Hogs.net.
Know your role, please. It's the same as mine.

Comes around goes around for this guy. He ran his mouth about the teams that didn't draft him (especially us). He should be a good TE in this league, but that's if someone doesn't take his head off

I'm very pleased with Cooley. The guy is a true "Redskin" in my book.

The way it stands right now he may be the best TE in this years Draft

That very well could be the case. And I hope Cooley shows K2 a lesson or two more.

Tcwest, I was beaing sarcastic. I meant to talk smack about the yankees, because with all their salary, I laugh my butt off when they lose a game. How does a 200 miillion dollar group of guys lose a game to teams that are consistently 1/4 to 1/2 that? Let alone 40 times, or whatever it is. That was the point I was making, but nobody bit =(

Ahh well, this is a redskins board, and I spose I should keep it to that. Sorry if I came off as trying to moderate. I didn't mean to. That's the last job I want, trust me.

BTW, thanks for having me. I've been an off an on webskinner for years, and Hogs.net gives me much more enjoyment these days. Great group of people here.
