A dispute over a video football game led a man to fatally shoot his cousin Thursday night, police said today.
Also, police are seeking the public's help to find the killer of Ronnell Lancaster, 23, who died on the porch of a single-story home in the 1100 block of West 27th Street, on the Near-Northside.
Quincy Woodard
The man sought was identified as Quincy Woodard, 24, also of the same address.
Indianapolis Police Detective Kenneth Martinez said witnesses told them that Woodard and Lancaster were in the house around 5:18 p.m. Thursday.
"They was playing Madden 2005, and also talking about who was the better basketball player. The altercation got bad, Quincy went into a bedroom and got a handgun and fired a single shot at the victim," Martinez said.
Lancaster suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Lancaster is the 53rd homicide victim in the city limits this year -- up from 45 at this point on August 13, 2003.
