I think we're all a bit blinded by loyalty.

The Eagles are by far the class of the division.

They should go 10-6.
Redskins 8-8
Cowboys 8-8
Giants 4-12

The way i see it, these days in the NFL you can go
from nothing.....to something. So before we put Philly in the S.B. let us remember that you can also go from somethin to nothin.

Skins 12-4
Dallas 8-8
Eagles 7-9
Giants 5-11

hey box8276 - plese send us some of what you're smoking with your skins going 12-4 and philly @ 7-9. have you seen your guys play this preseason?

you don't just flip a switch on week one and have it become all good.

Now I'm confused, I thought that's what all you 'Pie fans have been saying Parcells did for your team last season?

did you ever see the Redskins play in preseason in the 80's?

Year in and year out, they were horrible.

Yet they performed well in all but one of Gibbs' regular seasons.

I was up at Carlilse to watch the camps unexpectedly get closed to the public, to watch those miserable preseasons only to have the Skins come out firing on most of their cylinders right away.

I tend to believe in history A.T., especially when the creator of that history is now back and doing the EXACT same things he did last time around.

The funny part is, he has more talent in the back 7 of the defense than he had the first time around, potentially a better RB than we ever had and a WR corps that has the potential to be as good as before.

Keep talking.... in the dailies or on here. Within the next two years you will see a massive swing in the team's performance, perhaps this year, but most likely next year.

I don't believe we are Superbowl bound, and have consistently told everyone on here to expect 8-8 or 9-7 this year, but don't expect to "own" us that easily this year. I fully expect the Skins to manage a 3-3 split this year in the division.

If you honestly look at the schedule this year, we have the opportunity to win 6 more games, which will easily put us at 9-3. If we even win one more than we should, it's a 10-6 year.

Whatever the case, the Cowpukes will have a harder time this year with problems they have and a harder schedule, not to mention a tougher division.

i don't disagree with outlook on this year for the skins or the 'boys. just as you're a firm believer in gibbs (and rightfully so), I believe in Billy P. he'd got HIS guys there, and this is year two for him. the road will be tougher, but IF they can make the playoffs with the killer schedule the 'boys have this year, I sure wouldn't want to play them in the postseason.

as for gibbs being able to flick the switch this year, good luck with that with brunell and a new system for every player in gibbsville

better than spurious with his roster changing as much, no gameplanning, injuries, penalties, turnovers, sacks, mistakes in clock management and a college linebackers coach that was familiar with only one defensive system as the defensive coordinator.

Simpler system, better in major skill positions, better in coaching will add up to major improvements faster than you can blink, IMO.

Parcells worked his magic on a very similar situation, including a schedule that includes a lot of the same teams...

I trust Brunell more than I would a lot of QBs in this league... he is one of the better overall quarterbacks to play the game.

Gibbs is twisting an old recipe to bring back good results. It was a recipe that resulted in 3 Titles in 4 tries. Not a shabby recipe. Not leaning on the fact that we have the trophies, but using them as a fact to show that the recipe isn't something to be lightly discarded.

amen on gibbs - no argument here. if vermiel can come back after a long hiatus, why not gibbs?

i am NOT sold, however, on Brunell. i feel like he's been beat up too much. five years ago, he was solid. his numbers haven't been great since.

before you attack vinnie, i will again refer you to last year and how good parcells made quincy q. look. fact is, parcells finds HIS guys, and they perform. there are no more gibbs guys in the league. they all retired a while ago. gibbs has a great ability to relate to players, and that doesn't go away, but he will need some time to get his guys playing in his system.

A "Gibbs guy" doesn't have to be someone who used to play for him. When people say that, they are talking of that persons character which fits into the mold of a player Gibbs likes to has. Thus being said, that person will be able to perform as if he used to play for Gibbs.

Theismann, Williams and Rypien... all three different types... one egotistical with good talent, one backwoodsy guy with raw talent and Rypien... um... good arm and no touch

Brunell - smart, mobile, good arm, good man - sure - I bet no one can win with someone like him... especially with protection from a much better line (simply from coaching - the talent WAS there)

CLL - you hit it right on the head :)

Two things we agree on in one week Chris.. what is the world coming to? ;)
