Don't know where you guys are seeing the Haskins-Moon relation. Totally different playing style and body type.

I'll say it again and I think you'll hear multiple commentators repeat the same thing:

Haskins is the re-encarnation of Doug Williams. Take that as you may.
Great arm, limited mobility, not a short-route quick-read guy.
Moon, by contrast, had an uncanny ability to find the middle route receiver. Magnificent spiral. Huge YAC average.

If Haskins achieves 20% the productivity of Moon during his career, then we're golden.

Now if he has 20% of the productivity of Doug yet he wins a SB then we have a completely different discussion, hehe! :]

Man I can't believe Hakeem Butler is still on the board. I'd grab him if he's still there at our pick.

Yeah, definitely nice to pick up an extra pick after trading our second rounder away, and we had no picks at all in the 4th going into the draft.

Maybe Dwayne Haskins is just his own guy, and we'll all have to see how he does as a professional NFL QB.

I said the same thing about Riley Ridley. How is he still on the board?

But we all know their target is Deionte Thompson. Defensive player from Alabama.

To be fair to Doug Williams Tampa knew how to draft quarterbacks but coaching them up or allowing them to play to their strengths ... not so much. I could be entirely off-base here but I think the Redskins have the staff in place to coach up a quarterback. They have four or five former quarterbacks on the coaching staff.

Yea, I knew what you were saying. I saw Steve Smith compare Haskins to Dan Marino. I'd take that, too.

Doubt he lasts.. Even with Cam and Mr Irrelevant- we can use as much talent in the wr room as possible- I too would take him

Not sure why that means he was going in the 1st to other teams not looking for a QB until Denver in the 2nd. Nobody was trading up for Haskins when Lock was on the board or they would have got him with their 1st pick. The ONLY other team who needed a QB was the Redskins. They all say it was great pick because we didn't trade up. That one thing changed the consensus of the pick to a good one when Haskins actually without a doubt could have been had in the second right before Miami's pick. It was 50/50 Denver and Denver may have still chosen Lock.

Redskins proved if Haskins was thought to be the best QB then you take him. But no other team thought that and surely were not trading up to get him with Lock still on the board. Only and I mean ONLY Danny wanted Haskins in the 1st round. It's common sense really. There was not another team after 15 who wanted or needed a QB. Not one team. It was a reach plain and simple.

OK I'm done Say what you will

Its cool... I see how trying to predict other teams boards can leave some doubt as to where someone will go. A team with an older qb or in need of a backup or take him as trade bait (for a qb needy team)... Its impossible to guage. And further more his "worth" is high first round.. So even to trade back- we get the same results.
Lock was considered more of a project and had less value. We chose between the 2 at the most important position... I think we came out on top man.

You got to be kidding a RB this early? Let's just put Peterson, Guice, Thompson, and Perine on the bench. He also tore his ACL. Is Dan still in the war room? Dan you are a sure enough Putz. Amazing

Don't forget who is making these choices. He'll get 1 in 3 right at best. Deionte Thompson S still on the board too we could have had with that pick

OK let's look at the bright side. Cut Peterson and Thompson next year so we can use Love then. The best i can do.

Haskins and Lock weren't even in the same conversation. No one thought Haskins would be there at #15.

We had no 4ths ... now we have two. Well, one left. I like the Bryce Love pick.

As Chris Sims said you don't draft for best player available you draft to build a team according to needs. It's not a collection of best players you draft to build a team. He used the Patriots as the example. All he had to say. Washington has many needs not wants. You will not find any best player available on the Patriots the majority of the time. Nothing wrong with BPA if you're in the later rounds.

The best player available is always a matter of opinion.

Unless everyone thinks they are the best player and shouldn't have fallen that far right? Best player according to needs is the point the Patriots make.
