Cardinals offer 2nd round pick for Rosem. Washington needs to jump all over this. Come on Bruce get your head out of your azz. Give them a 2nd and a 7th this year and next year and bring him in. Do It !!!!!!!!

Too much to give up for someone who has shown nothing beyond what they would get from their own prospect without trading picks.

I don't quite understand your logic on this. A 2d round pick for a guy who was a first rounder last year? How is it more of a gamble than a 1st round pick for a guy who has never played an NFL snap?
Not really advocating for or against him. But there is actual NFL tape on the guy. Coaches and scouts should be able to evaluate him pretty well and decide if he's worth giving up a second round pick or not. Personally if we can get that guy with a second rounder and use our first on an elite edge guy or a corner, I'd take that trade in a heartbeat.

Another team has reportedly already offered a 2nd meaning the Redskins would have to beat that offer. Arizona has the first pick in the 2nd round so the only way to beat that is ...

Depends on if that other team is offering a higher #2 than ours or not. Either way, we have four comp picks this year. If it takes the #2 and your extra 5th round pick its still worth it.
I agree that I wouldn't trade a first rounder for him because the value isn't there. He's already played a year on the rookie contract, so the team would probably be better off rolling the dice on a rookie.

Arizona is the team that offered their 2nd, the #33 overall pick. We have the 16th pick in the 2nd, the #46 overall pick. Comp picks can't be traded.
So, in short, we can't offer a higher 2nd because there is no higher 2nd.

I don't understand. Why would Arizona offer a second round pick for their own guy?
And we have two picks in the fifth round. One is not a comp pick. So it can be traded.

Rosen is better than all these guys except maybe Murray. Arizona's line was worse than ours after all the injuries. Rosen is the most accurate of them all. He was balling at UCLA. He needs time in the pocket period. If Washington drafts a QB in the first round instead of getting Rosen they are just stupid. Rosen has played when it is as bad as it can be in the NFL. Think about what he could do with an above average line that would afford him to play action with a good running game as well as have time to throw. Josh Rosen is a bit arrogant but he can ball. That pick at 15 has Rosen's name all over it. Deb Sweeney in the 2nd to give him someone to throw to and a guard in the 3rd and this offense is ready to score.
He is the perfect answer to paying too much for Alex Smith and still get a very good QB after what has happened with both too much money they paid for a QB with a broke leg. Rosen gets us out of a pickle with one draft pick. She worth a number one pick. For the place the Redskins are in between a rock and hard place as far as QB is concerned?

I didn't understand either since what I was reading made it look like the Cardinals had offered their 2nd for a player they already have under contract.

I was basing my assessment on reading that statement as though the Cardinals had offered their 2nd for Rosen, a player they already have under contract.
Having now figured out why you were confused (and why I was) ...
I still wouldn't give up a 2nd for Rosen but for different reasons. They are going to be bad this season and they already traded for a QB so bringing another guy in to compete for the starting job just complicates things. We also don't know if Alex Smith is done and if he's not he is going to be the starter when he returns. So, what does it do for Rosen if he starts some games and then gets benched because Smith is ready to play? I don't know. To me I think the smart move is to roll with the QBs you have or draft someone you can sit for a year without giving up picks. If you trade for Rosen he should play. If Smith is done that might make sense. I keep coming back to that. Is Smith done? Does anyone know?

What you're saying is logical, but you don't make the trade for Rosen just to be a guy who comes in and "competes for the starting job". You only make that trade if you like him and are prepared to invest in him as your franchise QB. I don't see it as any different than taking a rookie in the first round as a franchise QB.
I honestly don't know the answer on how good he is or isn't. But its been reported that the teams offering 2d round picks for him were the Giants, the Pats, and one other I can't recall.
No idea on Alex Smith, but I don't see how you operate under any assumption other than "he's probably done". Can't really put all other plans on hold and wait two or three years to see if he's able to come back.

Wow! So you would trade that 15 pick, eh? Interesting. I think that's overpaying myself for reasons I explained earlier. Maybe you could swap like the 15 pick for Rosen and the Cardinals third rounder or something to get the right value.

Outside of RGIII, I don't remember many rookie quarterbacks that had a better than a somewhat good first year. There were some but most did decidedly better their second or third year. Goff and Mahomes are prime examples of that. Goff had a bad first year and Mahomes sat the first year. I am all for the Redskins trading for Rosen as long as it does not include the 1st round pick.

Absolutely I would give the 15 pick for Rosen. There is no other position as important. None. If we hadn't spent a fortune on Alex Smith and got in this hole we are in it would be different. I would certainly rather draft someone else with that 15 pick but we don't have that luxury. If we can get Rosen who can really sling that football then yes I would trade the 15 to get him on a near rookie contract and then fill the holes at WR, guard, edge rusher and LB. Absolutely. If we already had a really good QB I would want Burns or Hockenson. Either one. Probably Burns but Hockenson can block and catch and give us a two TE combination that would be hard to cover. Choosing between those two would be a salt water taffy. That is what i would rather do. Personally i don't care for Alex Smith. High floor low ceiling.
We need an edge rusher real bad to help out the secondary and Linebackers who can't cover well. But a stud linebacker and edge rusher would do wonders and a mauler at guard and a couple Wide Receivers and I know the ones I want. I'm telling you now DK Metcalf will struggle. Route running is critical and he isn't good at it. Separation is what we need and I know two who are good at it. Debo Samuels is one of them. Why do you think Julian Edelman is so good. Route running is why.
if these 2 idiots think they can get a good starting QB through a trade or by way of the draft they will do it
short term or long term, they don't have a good starting QB on the roster and it's priority 1
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The Redskins have five front office people who have played quarterback at a professional level. One of them is the Executive VP in charge of player personnel. Dan Snyder and Bruce Allen are going to take the advice of their former quarterbacks over pulling another RGIII debacle. That's a huge reason why they added so many experienced quarterbacks on the management and staff.
Is it entirely possible they screw this up? Of course it is. But your every post seems like you want them to screw up just so you can continue to reference "2 idiots" or "two bozos" in every comment you make.
Try being a fan and hoping they make good decisions.

Well to be fair to these two idiots, there's really only two or three ways to get a good starting QB. Draft, trade or free agency. Not really sure what you're proposing what else they should do. Maybe genetically engineer one from birth?

If he were a fan of the team he'd look for solutions instead of harping on problems. He's just a concern troll. How he's managed to stay around this long is beyond me.

No! - I'm not 'proposing' anything - we need a QB and based on the past, there's little chance, if any, of these 2 making a very good decision about who to add
I also don't think they've done anything to warrant "fair" treatment by the fans - they deserve to be ridiculed

Maybe not. I just don't follow the team to ridicule them. I'd like to see them with a decent QB this fall.

Fine. You've ridiculed them every *f$ck* post. It's beyond enough. You're not telling anyone anything we don't already know. Try adding something of value to the conversation.
People like you are the reason message board forums are dying. No one wants to read the same tired *sh$t* every day.

me too and I hope that we will do well this season - HOWEVER, since 1999, the franchise has lost it's way and the product on the field has not done as well as was expected - in my opinion, that is mainly due to Dan Snyder (and more recently, Bruce Allen)
until Dan Snyder let's the franchise be managed without his interference, there's no way that we should expect better results regardless of who is QB or coaching here
I'd love for us to get a QB that could become a really good QB when Snyder finally realizes how badly things are under his guidance

One team that has been somewhat forgotten in the Josh Rosen talk - should the @AZCardinals select Kyler Murray- is the Washington Redskins, who are doing genuine due diligence on top rookie QBs despite acquiring Case Keenum.

Unless they're planning on cutting Colt McCoy (or he's injured a lot worse than they're letting on) this still makes no sense to me.

From the moment they acquired Keenum, was told nothing is off the table as far as landing another QB. McCoy/Keenum are FAs after this season. Alex Smith’s future in NFL still uncertain.
