According to multiple people familiar with the deliberations of the competition committee, there was support on the committee for making pass interference and certain personal fouls reviewable by replay, but only in those instances in which a penalty already has been called by the on-field officials.

Proposed Rule Changes
I'm not a huge fan of them always tinkering with the rules but I like this one. Hopefully it passes. Offensive players have been given way too much of an advantage.

Like to see it done like the High School rule, 15 yard penalty and no automatic first.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I'm not a huge fan of them always tinkering with the rules but I like this one. Hopefully it passes. Offensive players have been given way too much of an advantage.

Re: Proposed Rule Changes
Love this rule change proposal:
At next week’s owners’ meeting, the NFL will consider an alternative to the onside kick that would allow teams that score a touchdown or field goal — or teams that give up a safety — in the fourth quarter to elect not to kick off and instead line up their offense for a fourth-and-15 play from the 35-yard line. If they get to the 50, they keep the ball.

Re: Proposed Rule Changes
I think that would only work if there was some way to penalize "professional fouls" above and beyond the yardage. E.g., a yellow card / red card system where players could actually be ejected. Otherwise defenders will take the 15 yards over a huge completion every time.DEHog wrote:Like to see it done like the High School rule, 15 yard penalty and no automatic first.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I'm not a huge fan of them always tinkering with the rules but I like this one.
