Re: Snyder & Allen cannot find anyone to work for them ...
no worries - we all know that this franchise was very unlucky with injuries to so many players - nobody really expects much this season and we can expect substantial improvement in 2020 and beyond
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Yea, I think it speaks to the fact that Gruden days are numbered. Skins look like a team gearing up for 2020 when things will become more clear with Alex and the QB class will be deeper. I'm ok with that!riggofan wrote:Sounds about normal....DEHog wrote:Didn't take long for that story to be refuted...
Hoffman: Gruden frustrated, but 'absolutely' involved in Redskins' free agency process
Wasn't there a story a few weeks about everybody going to the senior bowl except Gruden?

I think so too. He looks like the definition of lame duck going into 2019.DEHog wrote:Yea, I think it speaks to the fact that Gruden days are numbered. Skins look like a team gearing up for 2020 when things will become more clear with Alex and the QB class will be deeper. I'm ok with that!
I think they're going to make a run at Saban for 2020. I just have a feeling...

I just can't see Saban coming to all this dysfunction after calling every shot at Bama...but leave it to Snyder and Allen's way of thinking if they sign all his former players he will come!!riggofan wrote:I think so too. I know it sounds crazy to all of us rational people who have been watching this clown show year after year. But there's no salary cap on paying a head coach. Whatever $$ it would take to lure Saban away would be worth every penny to Snyder because it would be one of those moves that could get people back in the stadium again. Saban has been at Alabama for 12 years. Make him the highest paid coach in the league. Hand him a team stocked full of some of his best former players.DEHog wrote:I just can't see Saban coming to all this dysfunction after calling every shot at Bama...but leave it to Snyder and Allen's way of thinking if they sign all his former players he will come!!
To be clear, I'm not calling for any of this to happen. I just have this feeling this is what they're headed towards.

I have to think Nick Saban would be a better option than Steve Spurrier was or than Jim Zorn was and it does seem very much like a Dan Snyder move. There are worse options. Like Jeff Fisher.riggofan wrote:I know it sounds crazy to all of us rational people who have been watching this clown show year after year. But there's no salary cap on paying a head coach. I agree. Even though it would be an obvious Snyder splashy move, I wouldn't hate it. He's seen the NFL once as a head coach already too and should know a little better from that experience.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I have to think Nick Saban would be a better option than Steve Spurrier was or than Jim Zorn was and it does seem very much like a Dan Snyder move. Totally agree that Snyder would try. I'm sure Saban has had multiple NFL offers every year, you hear the rumors every year and then you see Bama dig a little deeper into their pockets! He already makes more than any coach in the NFL, it's probably part of his contract that he is paid higher than the highest paid NFL coach!

Deservedly so! I think a guy in his position would be nuts to leave that program for an NFL team.DEHog wrote:Totally agree that Snyder would try.
