Possible QB options for 2019?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Good RPO guy. Takes care of the ball. Good fit. Should not be expensive.
He's a guy who would make sense, no doubt. I'm still in the camp that I'd rather see the team draft a QB than continue down this road of picking up QBs nobody else wants. But yeah, Tyrod Taylor or Bridgewater or even Fitzpatrick all make some sense.

I'm in that draft pick camp too. These reclamation projects have done nothing but hamper the team financially for decades. At least a rookie who ends up on IR isn't eating $20MM+ in cap space.

Yep. At this point I'm cool if they just draft a QB every three or four years and just hope that sooner of later they get lucky and hit on one. Blind squirrel and all that. :)

I'm absolutely fed-up with mediocre QBs coming here and trying to salvage this train wreck.
Teddy B, Fitzpatrick, Tyrod et al....why?

It did not work with Spurrier or his successors. It won't work now.

I'd much rather roll the dice in the draft. At least then you have hope.

Not true, brother. There was that one preseason game in Japan vs the 49ers...

So I know this thread has kind of gone all over the place from where it started. We've heard a lot of opinions about what you'd like the team to do at QB. I'm curious though: what do you think the team WILL do at quarterback this season?

Q: Who will be the top three QBs in camp for the Skins this May?

Colt McCoy and whoever they can sign dirt cheap (Mark Sanchez?) and a draft pick of some kind.

Ah yes, an absolute classic. I can still recall the exact time, date and place I watched that game.

you're kidding - they will do something stupid, like they always have ... it's best to keep thinking about what they should do
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Be honest though, man. You thought Spurrier was going to be coaching the next "greatest show on turf" after watching that performance, didn't you??? :D

Very possible even likely. So what three QBs do you think the team WILL have here this spring?

I'm going like this:

1) Colt
2) Josh
3) 1st round QB. I'll say DREW LOCK.
4) Smith on IR

I'm not sure Sanchez is allowed in the DMV.

Of course he is. Nobody has more Dirty Sanchezes than the DMV. 8-[

I'd like to see them keep Josh and draft his backup. Keep two QBs. Honestly they have nothing to lose this season by moving toward the future. They're not winning six games no matter who they keep.

be nice if a good QB were available with that first pick ... otherwise, I'd agree with the above

IF we did get a good QB in round 1 I'm not sure that both Colt and Josh will be here in Sept.

Between the two Josh has far more upside. We've seen the best of Colt and it's not all that good.

Yeah they've been pretty consistent about only carrying two.

Let's be honest though about drafting that first round QB. We'll hear all kinds of hype about these kids during the draft. With very few exceptions, there's no guarantee that any QB drafted in the first round is going to be "good". We need a QB and can't afford to pay a zillion dollars for him. Take the best shot at the QBs available to us at 15 and roll the dice.

I'm OK with that - it's the possibility of this that's stupid https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/new ... to-giants/

Of course I thought that! I'm on record on this forum saying that I preferred finishing the game over having sex at that moment.

Seems about right. The team is on the verge of irrelevance.

I’m not saying Tyrod Taylor is the answer to our prayers but he could definitely run the offense and hold down the fort while we get out of salary cap hell and wait for a better year to draft a QB.

There’s no reason to go draft a quarterback just because we need one unless we have somebody we really like to draft.

He is a good fit for our offense, he takes care of the ball, and does not figure to be expensive.

TT's functional, I agree. But he depends on a good running game to be competitive.

Always seemed way too erratic with the Bills, but maybe Gruden can coach him up.

It may mean something or it may mean nothing but every mock draft I've run thus far has the NY Giants taking Drew Lock at #6. I may have mentioned once or twice this draft has a dearth of QB talent so if the Skins want Lock it looks like they have to move up. It won't be three firsts and a second expensive but it could be out of their comfort zone.

Best possible scenario would be to draft a qb in the 1st or 2nd round, sign Ryan Fitzpatrick (will be cheaper than other vets due to age), cut ties with injury proned McCoy, and go with Josh Johnson as the 3rd string. So you have:

1. Rookie QB / Fitzpatrick / Johnson - depth chart
