Foles will command too much$$$, Williams has signed with the Jets and Snyder ain't going anywhere.
It hard to blame management for our current QB issues, Smith was a good stop gap for a few years, no one could foresee the injury.
The biggest misstep IMO by the current leadership is one that no one talks about...How do you let Sean McVay go?
Yeah I get that hindsight is 20/20 but they saw this guy everyday, no one in the organization saw his potential??

McVay has a lot more talented roster in St. Louis than he ever had in Washington. Believe it or not that matters.

Yes the same roster that Fisher had the previous season...It was under McVay that Cousins played his best and the Skins last made the playoffs.

No, I do think they win more games, because I think they score a lot more than 17 points a game or whatever Gruden's inept offense was putting up. But how many more games? Probably still not the twelve or thirteen a season he's winning in St. Louis. Remember, this is the team that hired Jim Zorn over Gregg Williams. They're not very good at making the obvious correct decision. This is also the team that just gave Bruce Allen more control over screwing things up.

^^^^ McVay can coach, yes he has players but you don't take a Fisher coached 4-12 team to 11-5 the very next season and 13-3 the next year, without being able to coach!

Jeff Fisher has not coached in the NFL since being fired by the Rams with three games left in the 2016 season and his name hasn’t been publicly mentioned in conjunction with any jobs, but he hasn’t given up hopes of coaching again.

lol. That is a highly misleading stat. Dude was a head coach for 22 years. His teams were above .500 SIX times. (Joe Gibbs was .500 in 11 of 16 seasons.)
The real stat there is probably that Jeff Fisher has been a head coach for more years than hardly anyone else.
I liked him a lot with the Titans btw. I just thought that Rams team was way too talented to do so poorly while he was coaching. I think McVay has helped them a lot, but that team is loaded with talent.

While the Dolphins are set to move on Ryan Tannehill during the offseason, don’t be surprised if there’s a couple of teams interested in making a trade for the quarterback.
The Redskins are one of the teams that could be interested in obtaining Tannehill’s services provided they could work out a trade with the Dolphins. While it is speculation they would be interested in Tannehill, the Redskins are definitely in need of a quarterback.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Redskins quarterback Alex Smith will likely miss the entire 2019 season after suffering a compound fracture in Week 11 of the season. With Smith’s playing future is serious doubt, the Redskins are expected to look for a quarterback either through the draft or free agency.
Would you give up a fourth or fifth round pick for Tannehill? He's under contract for one more year with a base salary of $19m so I'm not 100% sure how it would even be possible. But I honestly don't think the team will just try to tank it next year.

Don't disagree but SOMEBODY has to play QB next year. I'd hate to see a situation again like this year with Colt, Sanchez, Johnson, etc; A 5th rounder wouldn't be the end of the world. Purely hypothetical btw, just saw that article and posting it here for discussion.

No. I would just give up. This team with this owner and this general manager is the last place anyone in the NFL wants to work. The Redskins are a laughing stock. Players would rather play anywhere else. Coaches would rather coach anywhere else. And QB is not the only problem this team has, despite all the media idiots who insist that's the direction they're headed.

(Stop laughing, dammit, I'm serious here.) Given the current Alex Smith bind would you trade a 5th rounder for Tannehill as a short term fix?

Yeah understand what you're saying on that part. I don't think the 5th rounder is too steep for a starting QB. Even for just a year. But I can't quite understand how they could afford his 2019 salary number.

No, I would not, because the extra two or three games you might win as a result are not worth the price.

Fair argument. Our 5th round pick last year was Tim Settle. Looks like a decent player, definitely solid depth on the DL for a few years.
