Snyder & Allen cannot find anyone to work for them ...

Post by SkinsJock »

 they couldn't get anyone so they're going to stick with what they've got ...

AND, you know who's taking the fall for this coming season's win/loss record ...

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Man, I'd love to see him relegated to some position just negotiating the new stadium or whatever. But I'm not feeling super optimistic that we're going to see any change.

There are some good defensive coordinators coming available today. Anyone else like to see a new DC?

It would be the fourth under Gruden, I know if I was a DC I wouldn't be feeling great about the opening here...but yes...I've always liked Bowles!

Allen needs to go. Gruden needs to go. Jay Gruden is a weak, milquetoast coach.

It's hard to believe that Dan and Bruce (or anyone with any sense) can not see that this franchise needs to do something to address the issues that this franchise is facing - I'd like to see a Todd Bowles or Gregg Williams come in but surely they must see the need for change at the top

this franchise is not a place where many would want to come and work or play but it might be a challenge that some would accept

Todd Bowles probably needs a job. Maybe he would agree to come to the Redskins. However, Gregg W. has already been through the Dan Snyder lunacy, and he did well with the Browns. If the Browns don't hire him as head coach, he should be in demand other places.

Meanwhile, unless Dan Snyder sells the team, we can expect it to be run the same way for the next 20 years. I'll hope for a win each game, but will remember the Street & Smith's Football pre-season, 1959. The Redskin section was titled "They Play, and Pray, For an Upset".

 you could be right

I just had a scary thought ... what if these 2 bozos think like some other twits here ... FOR EXAMPLE - there's no need to make a knee jerk reaction to going 2-6 - they brought in Alex Smith who is an upgrade over Cousins and locked him into a deal to make sure he could be in place while we get another QB ready - who could possibly think that this franchise would have 2 seasons in a row of being hit with so many injuries to so many key players
the team starts out 5-3 when most everyone thought they'd be lucky to win 6 - then they lose their 2 QBs to broken legs - things like that just don't happen - you know what, this franchise has a lot of good players and a good HC that we brought in here and looking at who is available that might be better as a HC or as a GM, we're going to just stick it out for another year - we need a draft or 2 and then we'll be back in the thick of things

you have to remember, these 2 bozos might have 2 brain cells between them

if they don't bring in someone to manage the football side of things we're doomed to what welch said "Play ... and Pray for an upset each week"
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance

Jerry Brewer article today: "The Redskins keep telling us they’re close. To what?" It's a depressing article.

My optimistic thought: ignore the QB spot, Redskins. Draft for WR, TE, fast linebackers and DB's. Draft good players, as mentioned above. If the team wins only four or five games next year, that's OK.

See, I think the head coach position here is really unattractive, but we have some decent talent on the defensive side of the ball. I don't know that anyone with better options would want to come work for this organization at this point, but a quality DC would have some talent to work with at least.

The past few days have just been BRUTAL on Snyder in the press. Honestly don't think I've ever seen anything like it. Its going to be really interesting to see how/if Snyder reacts.

I can see these 2 guys rationalizing that they know what they're doing and if it wasn't for some bad luck this franchise would have won the NFC East

what a fun place it is in DC these days with Snyder/Allen and Trump gifting the media so much to 'report' on

Not so much about talent as it is working with Gruden who could be out next year...vs. working with a new hire in places like Denver, Cincy or an established place like Atlanta who is looking for a new DC.

We'll see if this holds true, but not too much of a surprise I suspect:

Jay Gruden has officially been told he’s back as Redskins coach for 2019, per source. This has been expectation among many for weeks.
I know people will be disappointed about that. I'm kind of indifferent about it myself. I will say though that watching the six or so teams that are currently interviewing coaches right now, I'm not really envious of any of them. It seems like half of them are interviewing coaches who were just fired by the other half!

Does anyone have concerns that Snyder could move the team? The Colts, Rams, Raiders and Chargers did it.

I don't. If Snyder moves the Redskins, another team would move to DC. Washington is a big market. Imagine owning the NFL franchise in Tampa or Jacksonville or Charlotte or Buffalo.

Oh, and Hail aswas, who has cheered for the team since 1945! I can remember the Redskins only as far back as 1953 or '54. HTTR

100% what I’ve been saying. Keep building this team with the mediocre bunch we have. Hiring another head coach from a mediocre pool of candidates to just see the next 10 years be mediocre is not a good solution. Further, I think the run on HC’s around the league has depleted the coaching pool. The up and comers need more time to develop OR hire an unconventional HC hire like Jim Harbaugh, Jeff Brohm, Lincoln Riley. Nobody can win next year with the QB situation that we have. Might as well let the plane crash and burn with the group we have. Next year is the complete rebuild IMO. QB class looks strong. Coaching candidates will be more seasoned. Snyder will have one more year to realize that Bruce Allen is the main reason the stadium is empty....even after he’s reassigned this offseason. Hate to say it and as I’ve been saying....staying the course is our best solution right now. Just hope we don’t lose Kyle Smith in the process. I think he’s the only legitimate talent in the building.

Yeah I felt the same way about Chris Samuels. Awesome LTs who were capable of hall of fame type careers in my opinion. I don't know if either player can earn that type of recognition because of the franchise they played for.
