Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Skins just traded for the GB safety... Him and DJ might be the best duo in the league!

Low low price of a 2020 7th rounder!

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
That might be wrong... Saying the same thing with Ty Montgomery to Baltimore so idk what we paid- it did say a 7th for Ha Ha- mightve been a typo- unless they are stock piling 7th rounders for 2020

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Correction- its a 4th round pick... That sounds more accurate. I think thats solid for him, and we aren't hurting going in to the draft still with i believe 11 picks?

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Yeah I think we may even have an extra 4th rounder next year. 4th rounder for a 25 year old safety is pretty good. He's also a FA after this season. So if the team doesn't resign him, they can get a comp. pick for him in 2020.cowboykillerzRGiii wrote:Correction- its a 4th round pick... That sounds more accurate. Not the trade I was expecting/hoping, but I don't hate it.
Any thoughts on him overall? I've had a good impression from the times I've watched the Packers, but not sure how accurate that is. Another Alabama guy too, eh?

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I'll take it. This seems like a smart move by the Skins.
Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I wonder what inspired that? I thought the safetys were doing ok, or maybe they are trying to free up DJ some more so he can do his thing. Maybe they've had to be conservative and have kept him in coverage because they felt weak?

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
With the pukes and the fleagles adding wideouts its a good move imo... Im glad we didn't make a big stupid move like Dallas did for AC.
I do have to wonder if this means Monte will play cb? Nickel maybe? I know Dunny is expected back asap- but id like to keep Nicholson involved as he has been progressing well. Clinton-Dix is most definitely the starter tho- and with DJ should develop into a nasty attitude for the back field. Legion of boom esque

Apke was placed on IR so they had to do something. I don't hate this move.

Anyone know if Adonis Alexander has seen the field, or even been active? I know Stroman has been up and down (more down) I expected to see him this last weekend

As of last week DJ and HaHa were the top 2 rated safeties in the league... If they can ball out together I think this will really help the db group

Clinton-Dix's favorite player and "inspiration" is Sean Taylor. That's good enough for me. RIP Sean.

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Amen!
With DJ owning STs rookie number... I wonder what number Ha Ha will wear? Im excited to see these safeties ball and feed off each other... And amp up that side of the ball. DJ has been epic- and a great leader... Adding Clinton-Dix to the mix will intensify that attitude and stingyness in the back field. Might be one of the most unexpected best moves in a long time.

I heard Nicholson was a little nicked up right now as well. This is a good move. Can't have enough depth there.oj wrote:I wonder what inspired that? Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest Nicholson lost his starting job to Clinton-Dix. The Skins expected more production from Nicholson and it hasn't been there. Could be related to the alleged nagging injuries. But Clinton-Dix is 25 and has made the Pro Bowl so he's probably worth re-signing if they can figure out where to get the money.riggofan wrote:I heard Nicholson was a little nicked up right now as well. No doubt HHCD is the starter. Is that true about Nicholson though? He hasn't stood out as "bad" to me in any games that I remember but I can't say I've been watching the safeties with keen interest or anything.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest Nicholson lost his starting job to Clinton-Dix. Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I've heard they expected Nicholson to be a ball hawk at free safety and he has been anything but that. I wouldn't say he has been bad but they expected him to be outstanding. He hasn't been that either. Fortunately for us Green Bay has two high-priced safeties already and knew they couldn't afford to re-sign Clinton-Dix. Hopefully we can because safety has been our Achilles heel since ST.riggofan wrote:No doubt HHCD is the starter. Is that true about Nicholson though? And before ST! Well, I like that we have three legit guys available at that position.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I've heard they expected Nicholson to be a ball hawk at free safety and he has been anything but that. Not practicing today: Trent Willams, Adrian Peterson, Montae Nicholson, Chris Thompson, Shawn Lauvao. Nicholson has been described as “banged up” and that’s partly why Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is here. Clinton-Dix is wearing No. 20.

Re: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
I'll tell you what I'd like in a perfect world: Add Patrick Peterson, who is rumored to be available. That would be one hell of a defense. Dunbar apparently has some kind of nerve problem in his leg and while I like Stroman I don't trust him yet to play at the level of Dunbar.

Think its too late on Peterson now. Trade deadline was yesterday. That would be sick though!Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I'll tell you what I'd like in a perfect world: Add Patrick Peterson, who is rumored to be available. That would be one hell of a defense. I had a nerve issue in my leg recently. Stupid story, but I sort of bent/jammed my toe badly and a pinched nerve affected my leg from middle toe through my shin to the back of my knee. Really weird, uncomfortable feeling like I was dragging around a dead leg. Just thought of it when I was reading about Dunbar. If its anything similar, I can't imagine playing football like that much less being effective. And it took three or four weeks for me to get back to normal.

Peterson would've been cool- reports claim he wants out, but the AZ brass wont allow it. He will be expensive too. But its fun to dream!
I read that Dunny, despite being called shin/ nerve issue said it was actually Hami related. Ill try to find the article

Huge. I really like Stroman but not as a rookie starter asked to shut down the other team's best receiver.riggofan wrote:Dunbar!
