Eighteen finalists will be presented to the full 48-member Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee during its annual meeting on “Selection Saturday,” the day before Super Bowl LIII. The finalists will consist of 15 Modern-Era finalists, the recently named Senior Finalist, Johnny Robinson, and the Contributor Finalists, Pat Bowlen and Gil Brandt.

The Selection Committee will meet on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 in Atlanta, Ga. to elect the Class of 2019. While there is no set number for any class of enshrinees, the selection process by-laws provide that between four and eight new members will be selected.

There are a lot of Redskins on the list. Hopefully a few of them make the cut.

There is only one name that should be on the list: Joe Jacoby. Until he has been enshrined all other considerations should be regarded as imposters, IMHO. I don't care if they are a coach, bucketboy or Gary Clarke, Joe Jacoby was the true embodyment of a football player and for the HOF Committee to deny such a dominant and selfless player speaks poorly of their judgement.

I had heard this last year, glad to see it was made public this year...only issue is Joe is now in the senior category.

We think Tony Boselli has a 50-50 chance though we're sick that Joe Jacoby got knocked out in a "tackle death match" with Boselli. A false narrative went around that when Joe Jacoby moved from left tackle to right tackle it was his failure that caused it. False.

What happened, and anyone who wants to confirm this with Joe Gibbs they can, was the Redskins traded for Jim Lachey, a fine, fine left tackle. And they played him at right tackle because they had Jacoby was coming off what Joe Bugel called Jacoby's "best season" in 1987. So the Redskins went with Jacoby at left tackle and Lachey in an unfamiliar position on the right. And Lachey was okay, but not the star he had been on the left. In late mid-season, Jacoby suffered a groin injury and during that time Lachey moved to his natural left tackle position and was his usual stellar self.

So, when Jacoby has mended, the Redskins put Jacoby on the right, knowing he could handle it and Lachey couldn't, so for the sake of the team Jacoby set his ego aside and moved. The Lachey at left, Jacoby at right was stronger than the Jacoby at left and Lachey at right because Jacoby was able to play both well.

With the induction of Johnny Robinson this year, only 4 players in the senior category wil have more finalist nominations than Joe...can you name them?

Yep, as as anyone who has ever played the position will testify everything is backwards from left tackle to right tackle. Feet, hands, positioning, etc. You're also blocking a different type of defensive end, generally one with more brute strength and fewer pass rushing moves. Jake would have played any position Gibbs asked him to play and done it well. It's sickening how disrespected he is by the media who vote.
