are we to banged up?

Post by jimminie82 »

At first it didn't bother me but as time go's now it seems as if we have one to many key players on that injured list

John Jansen - out - out for the season nothing we can wish for.

Laveraneus Coles - lingering toe injury that should have been delt with last year in the off season!
Ladell Betts - hamstring injuries that could have him cut this season!.
Randy Thomas - Bugel hinted they are worried about his neck injury.
Marcus Spriggs is already dinged up. So who is the backup left tackle now? Its Joe Molinaro!!!!! Is he ready?

Philip Daniels - will play Friday, but is he really completely healed?
Brando Noble - supposedly his knee is acting up now (swelling)
LaVar - god forbid if his knee sprain gets worse.
Mike Barrow - he suffered a knee setback over the weekend.
Walt Harris - his knee is a question mark still.

so where do we stand in regards to backups should some of these guys not heal up in time? it's a long list somebody make me smile tell me something anything, and where the heck is our pass rusher again this year?

All teams have a list like this in training camp, I garuntee that all the guys on your list (with the exception of Jansen) will be in the Burgandy and Gold will be wearing the burgandy and gold, giving it there all against tampa bay, on september 12th

I agree. It's not unusual at all for people to miss a few days of practice. It's more of a precaution than anything else. They're only missing practices, and not a regular season game. If the season was to start today, we'd be good to go with the exception of Jon Jansen.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

I'm thinking that the regulars won't be playing Friday, correct?

Losing one starter in preseason isn't that bad. Sad it's a very good all-around lineman, but that's the way the ball bounces...

I definitely think the regulars, with the exeption of Brunnell will get very limited playing time on friday. They pulled the first stringers very early last week and I expect them to do the same this week. Brunnell and the receivers will probably stay in a little longer to practice their timing.

As far as injuries, I agree with the above - everyone except obviously Jansen will step up come Sept 12th.

We wouldn't really know about many of these injuries if it were the regular season, since players often play through some tough pain that otherwise keeps them out of pre-season. There was that exchange between Bramweinstein (sp?) and Lavar, where B. asked Arrington whether or not (if this was regular season) he would be playing. Lavar just looked at him and said "you don't know me very well."

Should probably have referenced / quoted that, but I'm in a rush here. . .

I agree that most of these injuries would not even be mentioned during the regular season, but I think we will worry all year over Coles toe, and I'm also wondering about this neck thing with Randy Thomas

Where did you hear about Noble's knee? He has been playing and playing pretty well. Do you have an inside source or did I just miss the scoop?

Wow don't break my heart Hailskins. I am hoping it's just precaution. That guy has had a rough time. He needs to stay healthy.

i don't think it's too serious as of yet. just precautionary. i've definantly got my fingers crossed for him. unfortunantly, that type of injury dosen't bode well for someone who plays in the trenches on every play. (fiore)

Hey, I think we're looking good. I guess we lost Jansen for the season but otherwise we are healthy. Most teams would love to have an injury report like that. Other than Jansen all of these injuries seem very minor.
