Re: The Loser Papers - 2018 Edition II
I like this whole "playmakers making plays is what beat us" theme coming from opponents. We also saw two things that we hadn't seen in previous games: Deep passing attempts and Smith running. Both were huge. It's only one game but it's one hell of a turnaround from last week.

Curious though, do you have a different opinion of the Colts after their game vs. the Eagles yesterday? I think their defense is considerably better than we were giving them credit for last week. It was a disappointing game, but that one might not look as bad in a few weeks. (And to be fair, that Cardinals a** whipping doesn't look as impressive as it did in week 1. lol.)Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:I like this whole "playmakers making plays is what beat us" theme coming from opponents. Your comment on Alex Smith is totally on point. He had a couple huge runs in that game to keep drives going.
Kirk Cousins really showed up for the Vikes yesterday. 300 yards and a TD in a 27-6 loss. No offense to him, but that really is a very Kirk like performance.

No. Not as I type this. My opinion may change in a few weeks. The Colts are 1-2 and -3 on points. One of their losses was to the Bengals, who looked like complete and total garbage against Carolina and the other was to a really mediocre looking Philadelphia Eagles club who lost to Tampa Bay and barely eeked out a win over Atlanta. The Colts are nowhere near as bad as the Cardinals but any way I look at it that's a game where we failed to make adjustments and that's the reason we got our asses handed to us. Jay Gruden kept going to a dry well on offense and there were no defensive adjustments. The team that just beat Green Bay would have stomped that Colts team. It's one of those losses that could come back to bite us at the end of the season. When people were predicting 2-2 after four games they were not predicting a win versus Green Bay and a loss to Indianapolis.riggofan wrote:Curious though, do you have a different opinion of the Colts after their game vs. the Eagles yesterday? All fair comments. Just won't surprise me in a few weeks if our opinion on that game has changed. We'll see.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:No. Not as I type this. My opinion may change in a few weeks. Maybe, but like you said most people were predicting 2-2 after four games. With win v. Colts, loss v. GB. I know I was. So yeah, it may be a win you needed at the end of the year, but the team is right where most people expected right now.Burgundy&GoldForever wrote:It's one of those losses that could come back to bite us at the end of the season. I have them 2-2 in that next stretch v Dallas, Giants, Panthers, Falcons. Would be great to get an extra win in those games or maybe steal one against New Orleans.

Re: The Loser Papers - 2018 Edition II
based on the fact we beat the Packers who are better than any of those 4 teams, we should go 4-0

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Can you imagine if this team went on a four game winning streak? This town would go nuts.SkinsJock wrote:based on the fact we beat the Packers who are better than any of those 4 teams, we should go 4-0

This bye week comes at the worst possible time, far too early and just in time to break momentum.
