I was there yesterday. We were on the 10 yard line when Terrell Pryor made that catch. A guy next to me got a good video of it and texted it to me. Good day to be there. Of course, we live fifteen minutes from camp, so....

Josh Doctson - WR - Redskins
Josh Doctson is going "all out" in training camp.
Doctson is finally free of restrictions after his mysterious, injury-marred rookie season. Doctson drew universally good reviews for Thursday's start of camp. There are targets there for the taking in Washington with both Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson out of the picture.

Joey Mbu - DL - Redskins
CSN Mid-Atlantic's JP Finlay considers Redskins third-year UDFA Joey Mbu the favorite to start at nose tackle Week 1.
The Redskins didn't use a traditional big-bodied -- relatively speaking -- nose tackle last season, but finding one to help their awful run defense will be key. Mbu played 55 snaps as a rookie for the Falcons in 2015 but didn't make a team in 2016, spending much of the year on Washington's taxi squad. He stands 6'3/323.

D.J. Swearinger - DB - Redskins
Redskins coach Jay Gruden singled out new SS D.J. Swearinger for praise.
Gruden has been bullish on Swearinger's Redskins prospects all offseason, predicting in May that he would "emerge as a top safety" in the league. Still only 26 (in September) and coming off a late-bloomer type year in Arizona, Swearinger could be a nice addition for the Redskins.

Keith Marshall - RB - Redskins
Keith Marshall tore his right patellar tendon at Saturday's practice and will undergo surgery on Tuesday, August 1.
The injury will sideline him for the remainder of 2017. It's another tough break for Marshall, who missed all of last year with an elbow injury and was plagued by injuries throughout college. With Marshall on the shelf, Washington's backfield will consist of Rob Kelley, fourth-round rookie Samaje Perine, pass-catcher Chris Thompson, and perhaps preseason phenom Mack Brown. Last year's Week 1 starter Matt Jones is waiting to be released.

Kenny Hilliard - RB - Redskins
Redskins signed RB Kenny Hilliard.
The 2015 seventh-rounder never made an impact in Houston. He will be a camp body for the Redskins after the loss of Keith Marshall.

Matt Jones - RB - Redskins
Speaking Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Matt Jones is "doing a good job of competing for a spot at running back."
Jones has been trying to force his release, but things could be complicated by Keith Marshall's season-ending injury. The Redskins have appeared perfectly content to hold onto Jones as their No. 4 back, though they would undoubtedly flip him for a conditional day-three pick.

Kendall Fuller - DB - Redskins
ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim wrote sophomore CB Kendall Fuller has looked "comfortable" in camp.
Coming off microfracture surgery, Fuller rarely looked comfortable as a rookie, allowing the second-highest passer rating (122.7) among slot corners according to Pro Football Focus. He is healthy now, however, and Keim reports it is showing up on the field. Fuller looks like the favorite to start in the slot with Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland on the perimeter.

Jamison Crowder - WR - Redskins
Jamison Crowder has been sidelined for the last three practices with a hamstring injury.
There's been no indication Crowder's injury is serious, but once players miss three days in a row, we write about it. He's likely dealing with a mild strain. Injuries haven't been a problem for Crowder through two NFL seasons; he's appeared in all 32 games since being drafted. Crowder is a real threat for 90+ grabs this year.
Source: CSN Mid-Atlantic Aug 2 - 10:17 AM
Samaje Perine - RB - Redskins
Coach Jay Gruden acknowledged that ball security and pass protection are "big factors" when the Redskins divvy up running back snaps.
Gruden said this on the same day rookie Samaje Perine fumbled in one drill, and got blown up in pass protection in another. Although Perine is favored by the fantasy community, Rob Kelley stands a strong chance to open the season as the Redskins' starter because the coaching staff sees him as so reliable. Both early-down backs will lose passing-down work to Chris Thompson.
Source: ESPN.com Aug 2 - 3:36 PM
Rob Kelley - RB - Redskins
The Washington Post's Master Tesfatsion wrote it is "clear" Rob Kelley will be the Redskins' No. 1 running back.
When healthy, Kelley has been the first running back through the rotation at camp, and Tesfatsion points out coach Jay Gruden has stuck with experienced runners over rookies in the recent past. That, of course, could change, but Kelley is the better bet to start Week 1. No matter who wins the competition, both backs should get work throughout the season, limiting their fantasy upside.
Source: Washington Post Aug 3 - 12:34 PM
Rob Kelley - RB - Redskins
Redskins coach Jay Gruden says Rob Kelley reported "bigger and faster" this summer.
Gruden also said Kelley is more confident. With Samaje Perine struggling early in camp, the 'Skins have commenced puffing up Kelley. A 24-year-old man, we would consider it unlikely Kelley got both bigger and faster in the eight months since last season ended. Kelley broke a ton of tackles as a rookie starter, but showed little in the way of wiggle or burst. He's in line to start Week 1, but Perine isn't going away as a threat. It figures to be a fluid situation for much of 2017.

Jordan Reed - TE - Redskins
Jordan Reed saw a specialist for his toe injury on Wednesday, and is without a timetable for a return.
The doctor's visit was a "follow up." Coach Jay Gruden said Reed was day to day, but intimated it was more week to week. It's not exactly good news after the 'Skins insisted last week that the issue was not serious. Reed is beginning to appear likely to miss preseason games. Ever the injury risk, the Redskins will not rush Reed's return.

Jordan Reed - TE - Redskins
Jordan Reed's toe injury has been bothering him since last season.
Reed's toe was apparently an issue "all last year and into the offseason." He said it was beginning to feel better until he underwent a stem-cell treatment following minicamp. "That kind of flared it up a bit on me," Reed said. "Now I'm just letting it calm down before I get out there." Speaking about his recovery timeline, Reed said he's "just gotta take my time, let it heal and strengthen up, then get back out there." It wouldn't be surprising if Reed was held out for the entire preseason.

Dude is not healthy and he's one hit away from being toast.

I know we kinda had to take Jonathan Allen at 17 but I REALLY liked OJ Howard to become our next TE. I kinda wish someone had already taken Allen so we coulda pulled the trigger on this guy.
O.J. Howard - TE - Buccaneers
ESPN's Dan Graziano reports O.J. Howard is "turning heads" in training camp.
Per Graziano, the Bucs believe Howard is Day 1 ready as a blocker. Unspoken there is the fact that Howard might not make an immediate impact as a receiver, especially with Cameron Brate siphoning snaps and targets. A freak athlete, Howard will make a rookie impact, it just might not be on the fantasy stat sheet.

Fingers crossed on Reed and Allen.

Yeah, seems pretty likely that OJ Howard is going to be a special player. But man, I've liked everything I've seen and heard about Allen so far. I know he probably won't show up in the highlight reels and stat sheets the way a guy like Howard will, but we've needed to invest in guys like Allen for a long time.

Liked this training camp observation from Mike Jones this AM:
During one-on-one drills, rookie Jonathan Allen shined the brightest, using a blend of speed and power to beat blocks and overpower offensive linemen. Second-year pro Matt Ioannidis displayed great improvement from last year as he won his matchups with Brandon Scherff three different times Sunday. Ioannidis bull-rushed the third-year Pro Bowl guard into the backfield and into the quarterback twice. Last year, Ioannidis didn’t have the strength to contend with Scherff or many of his other veteran teammates.
Three Takeaways from Sundays Redskins Training Camp
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/foo ... ining-camp

I'd kind of forgotten about Ioannidis. That's cool to hear.

Sounds like Phil Taylor is going to be the starting NT too, eh?

It don't look good. Very disappointing. The guy must be devistated, I can only imagine.

Did you read something different?
Doctson had an MRI that showed a “slight pull” of his hamstring. The coach called Doctson day-to-day when it came to a timeline to return.
