I'm OK with 2 of the next 3 - a W tonight would be 'icing'
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
a loss but I was encouraged - there was a lot more intensity and I expect to go back to the Cap Center tied at 2
and Letang will not be playing on Thursday .... hopefully

But the Nats beat Kansas City about 16 - 2. Ben Revere returns soon. Wilson Ramos is back. Harper might have snapped out of his slump. Werth and Zimmerman are hitting, and Rendon is hitting. And Daniel Murphy is at .398.
I can feel my immunity to the traditional Caps Playoffs Choke returning...

OK - the Pens won 3 in a row - why can't the Caps do that?
the past 2 games could have just as easily been Ws for the Caps ...
I'm an optimist and I think the Caps are the better team ... what happened in the past is not as important

1: The Caps ARE the better team... as they have been in numerous prior post-seasons... 2: Everyone has a purpose... (see the Caps past)
I wouldn't object to being wrong... But... it's the Caps, and it's the post-season.

No...wait...it's like that Bill Murray movie, "Groundhog Day". Never changes except the year.
Ugh, again.
Finally! I have company... cynicism is the attitude of the day!

The Caps won yesterday in Montreal, and wiped out the Kings at home today: 5 - 0.
Have more depth in scoring this year, better defense, both Holtby and Grubauer playing well in goal.
This is a good team. Maybe make the final round this season? This team is as good as anyone. Maybe this is the year?
I'm taking it one game at a time. Tired of having them rip my heart out and step on it in the playoffs. Until they can beat Pittsburgh when it matters ...

Cynicism? Cynicism is so last year. The Caps have been really good. Tight defense, balanced scoring. Three top lines can all score. Ovie is passing more and playing hard-nosed defense. The d-men are solid and can score, too. The new defenseman, Shattenkirk, is a slick passer and good shooter.

how great would it be for the Caps - the 2 teams that have been their nemesis are still there ...
this is going to be fun ...
