Why can't the skins get FEDEX pumping like VA Tech did?

Why can't the skins get FEDEX pumping like VA Tech did?

Post by Skins2WinITall »

I am calling on all skins fans to take it up a notch this year at FEDEX Field. This weekend at the Tech game, was the loudest I have ever seen or heard at FEDEX since it opened. The playoff game against Detroit (a distant memory) was the only game I can remeber at FEDEX that could even come close to the excitement which I saw saturday. So all fans that are there entertaining clients or drinking your wine and eating your cheese, put that stuff aside buy one of Dan's 7$ beers and give the players out there something to play for!!
Take it to the house!!!

I was at that Detroit playoff game and I have to agree: Fans were standing (refusing to sit down) for the 1st 3 series. It was an incredible atmosphere. I have never seen that duplicated at another Redskins game at FedEx. The reason?

Because that game was attended by a majority of Redskins fans. Regular season games have 60-65% Redskins fans and 35-40% of fans from opposing teams.

Folks, we need to take back FedEx and rock the house!

Maybe the reason is because fans haven't had much to cheer about since FedEx was built... Hopefully that will change this year...

Besides... It didn't seem that it did VATech much good

Wow, Justice. Do you really think the opposing fan #s are THAT high? I'd say more toward 15 -20%... Maybe I turn a blind eye to it but it.... last season was by far the worst though. I know we can get that stadium rockin' though. I have faith in my fellow fans!

I was at the Tech game - trust me it helped... what killed us was their depth at WR even minus Williams - in a tight game having the fan support would be huge

I sit in section 402 and during the philly game a couple of years ago (the one with the tear gas being sucked through the fans on the philly side of the stadium causing the Eagles players to run for their lives) there was easily 35% Eagles fans in our section. By the third quarter there was the four people in our seats and the rest for eagles fans. We ended up having to leave abruptly due to the unruly Skins fans in our section

It helped. How do you think a 16 point dog was actually up in the 3rd quarter???

USC is just WAY too good for Tech.

I don't get how Tech let that bad pass interference all take them out of the game. But, I think they did alright for an unranked team playing against the No. 1 ranked team!

It was a joke... a HA!HA!... a ribbing for any hardcore Tech fans out there... although I was rooting for them too... But it didn't seem to effect USC in the 4th quarter....

Saturday night was filled with people who are true fans of their teams. People who hopped in the car/van/SUV and drove hours upon hours to get here. The Beltway was a zoo 4 hours before kickoff.

Problem is those same type of fans are priced out or shut out of FedEx for Redskins games.

Too many indifferent folk who are there for some reason other than watching a football game.

And this is why Jackson will not attend an Eagles game! Sorry General Failure, it may be a mix of Redskins/Eagle fans that causing issues but I'm not having my three year old near that stuff!

Back on the subject, I think there were times when it was rocking last year. However it never lasted because as a team our momentum never lasted. Like BTP I'm hoping we have something to cheer about this year!

Hokies travel

I drove up from Roanoke, Va. for the game and it was the wildest I've ever seen FedEx. 80,000 Hokie fans helped, as did the fact that many of us were tailgating (and playing beer pong) by 1 p.m. for the 7:45 kickoff. I just hope it will be that rowdy for the Monday night game vs. Cowboys.
Yes, there is another Redskins fan in Roanoke!

Ok what the hell is "beer pong"?? Don't think I've ever heard that term.

I too made the trip SCSF :)

awesome to hear that place so alive - too bad season ticket holders can't do the same, huh?

hopefully the team will give them reason to stay past half time this year...

then again, we went knowing we would probably be beaten since we are such a young team playing the national champs who had one of the best draft classes of the year

In the big city we spell it "hygiene", but we won't hold it against you while you're still in school, cvillehog.

I, too, wish that FedEx rocked all the time.

On Sundays, Jericho rocks louder, with less people. :D
