It seems though, that the Orangemen withstanding, the teams that win it all each year have seniors and so it may not be all that bad. You may be right though.

As I said, if the selection committee would have gotten just one shooter, it may have been a different story.

If we had sent the UConn Huskies, do you think we would have brought home gold? We had their best player on our team anyway, and he never saw the floor.

Remember, the reason we started sending pros in the first place is because the college kids couldn't get it done anymore...

I.M.O. this team was a disgrace to the N.B.A. and our country !!! #1 played with no heart at all "NO D"#2 just like the greek player said the N.B.A has great players but basketball is a team sport !!and that leads to my #3 one on one = N.B.A.= no gold medal !!!
please send the NCAA college champions !!! SKINZFAN !!!
p.s. not to metion our great pro team can't hit a jump shot to save their lives !!!! like i said before the N.B.A. is all about the dunk instead of the jumpshot.

Yeah, I was impressed by AI over the course of this Olympiad. We may have seen the dawning of a new AI era.

i think we should split the team 6 pros and 6 college players that way the 6 best player from the nba and college could play for our country. 8)

I, for one, am apalled at how arrogant "we" can be in defeat. Listening to some sports talk this morning, the pundits were saying that, to the USA "Pro" teams, "these are not the biggest games of their lives"(in comparison to the NBA FINALS), so they don't leave it all out there like the "others" (national team players for other countries) do.

This kind of reasoning is similar to the Lakers' reasoning during the finals, when they got punked by the Pistons. Shaq kept saying "we didn't play our game", and all that crap, and would not acknowledge his clearly better opponents.

We should hang our heads, as a nation, for the lack of skills we displayed in Athens, the skills required to be true ambassadors to the world. From the whining and sulking on the court while they were getting run by PR, to the post-Olympics excuse-making, this needs to stop.

We may have the most talent for the fundamentally-challenged NBA, but we've definitely shown to the world that we cannot compete in a real game of basketball. We need to get our act together.
Back and better than ever!
