Ricky Jean-Francois Released

$3MM Cap Move, but also, he was talking smack about the Front Office just days ago.

In a related move, Ziggy Hood was re-signed to a two year deal.

When I heard him talking smack, I thought to myself, any respectable NFL organization would fire his arse. I'm glad we did. Let's start firing team officials as well for leaking information. It's the only way it's going to stop.

The Dline was terrible last year. Even with Baker.
Changes had to be made.
McGee and McClain might not be the best of the free agents but they are new to the team and have an opportunity to make it happen.

Just hope we sign Poe or Hankins.

We just need Dts who can stop the run. Our edge guys can get after the qb. It'd be nice to get a DT who can pressure the qb and stop the run but those guys are max contract guys.

So just sign size and Dts who can stop the run if our F.O. isn't willing to go after Poe or Hankins.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

I know Poe is a big "name" guy but he has had two consecutive sub par years. Back problems. He was great in 2014.

I can't believe they let Swaggy go. I thought he had a good year, played solid and was a guy we could build around. We'll regret this move.

I'm pretty sure Baker was a victim of his mouth. Being openly critical of the front office never sits well with any team.

Dontari Poe is off the table.

From Adam Schefter: Falcons gave former Chiefs' DT Dontari Poe a one-year, $8 million deal that could increase to $10M with incentives, per source.

Ricky Jean had a bad attitude every since they made him go to Tampa Bay in preseason and guys like Kendall Reyes stayed. The writing was on the wall then.

I thought Ricky Jean was an interesting character, but can't say he ever stood out to me much as a player here. Seemed to be a JAG. Am I wrong about that?

He had some positives but at the end of the day he wasn't necessarily helping with our run stopping. He was a good rotational player and was not considered a starter to me. What he did provide according to most was leadership in the lockerroom. He definitely had a motor and played hard. You would think they could have kept him around with the cap space we supposedly have.
