NEW GM? Mark Dominik

Post by tribeofjudah »

Fake news or what?
Mark Dominik floated as Redskins GM candidate
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Redskins have begun mulling new GM candidates, and the name of ESPN analyst Mark Dominik "has surfaced."
La Canfora confirms multiple previous reports that dysfunction has returned to the Redskins' front office -- a recurring theme during Dan Snyder's reign of terror -- and in-limbo GM Scot McCloughan is expected to be ousted after April's draft. In addition to Dominik, La Canfora mentions in-house scout Alex Santos as a candidate for the GM role. Long term, there is no hope for the Redskins' organization to build a non-laughingstock as long as Snyder owns the team.

As a fan, I'm seriously getting ready to bail and just start playing video games on Sunday afternoons instead. Following the Redskins is more like following some rich d-bag's plaything. No fun anymore. :(

I am too. Allen is such a turd. The McCloughan hire was why I came back two years ago. It was a smart hire but Allen and Snyder can't get out of their own way. It's Cerato all over again

If Scott is out, I'm done. I wasn't in love with Scott like many on this site, however, you have to let a GM do their job and not hire a puppet to carry out your wishes. Oh well, its been a mixed bag over the past 30 years.

No one with any real talent would come here as a GM. Not even top scouts. There is no reason to. As a GM under Snyder, you have 2 options:
(1) Do what he says (Cerrato, Allen); or
(2) Get fired (everyone else)

Previous GM-types history:
1999: Casserly: FIRED
2000: Cerrato: B!tch yes-boy who was fired by Schott after showing he was horrible
2001: Schott: FIRED
2002-2009: Cerrato the b!tch-boy is back! After 7 years of failure and amid fan uprising, Vinny resigns and hasn't been in football since.
2010: Allen, another b!tch-boy placeholder who steps aside for Shanahan
2011-2012: Shanahan: FIRED/lost power essentially after 2012
2013-2014: Allen is BACK as placeholder and steps aside for Scot
2015-2017: Scot: FIRED

So basically, we've had 2 talentless yes-boys that have lasted. The others Scott, Shanahan, and Scot have had pedigree and real football knowledge that were fired.

Records with the b!tch boys: 75-117 or 39% win percentage
Seasons: 12
Playoffs: 2 (both under Gibbs)

Records with real GMs: 50-45 or 53%. And if you take away the mess that Shanahan first inherited, you're looking at 45-34 or 57%.
Seasons: 6
Playoffs: 3

All the real GMs that produced playoff seasons 50% of the time get fired. The yes-boys above who produce consistently losing teams have had long careers with the organization. Where is the f#$&king logic in this?????? WTF?????
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

I swear I heard Doug Williams' name floated in the past week as a possibility. Anyone else?

Doug Williams was an exec with the Bucs from 2004-2010. Their record during his tenure: 51-61.

He was the head scout in 2009-2010. The teams record in the subsequent 3 years (when you'd think "his" players became impact guys): 15-34.

Due to us having the worst and most meddling owner in all of sports, we have two options:
1. Get a GM that literally as no self-respect or discernible talent; or
2. Get a GM that has some ties to the past greatness that Danny boy has completely desecrated and hope they can scout as well as they played (highly unlikely)

:puke:

We are screwed.

It seems like everything fell apart right after Sean left. Did he see what was coming down the pike or was he the keystone that held everything together?

I knew that something fishy was going on - we are royally screwed
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Wouldn't have to hire another GM if we kept the one we had, who by the way was one of the best in the business.

God, I am more furious with this team right now than I have ever been.

IF that were to happen, I would not be unhappy to watch him make a more complete fool of himself than he already has

this is a mess and it's not going to go away ... there is no way this franchise can even make out like we are headed in the right direction when the guys 'steering' the boat have so little credibility with the media and the fans

I can't wait to hear the justification for putting us all in this situation

I reached this point some time ago... I took a step back from this team but warmed up to them when Scot came along. I expect this of Snyder but what's saddened me is seeing the usually optimistic fans downtrodden. This is a new low.

Does anyone know the full scoop???

I mean, Scott hasn't been around, wasn't at the combine... is he drinking again? Go on a bender? What's the family matters???

I won't just say, ah stupid Redskins until the reasons are leaked. But in any case... an absent GM is just that, whether on the payroll or not, it's really no change over the last two weeks.... and anyone who was surprised by this is tripping. Writing has been on the wall for a while now. He did bring hope... but the guy wasn't a football god either... how's he miss Doctson injury??? Among other whiffs

How many times do you have to go through this to realize that it's nobody but Snyder? Maybe you'll realize it in a decade when we're still in this rut. I realized it years ago and argued with many people who are now starting to realize it.

Bro, I could careless about Snyder... like I said, if the guy fell off the wagon... or what ever, it may be for the best. He wasn't doing his job this off-season, so I'd prefer we get some who will. Don't really care how evil Snyder is. I want my GM involved in FA and the combine. Scott has been MIA for to long for this to continue!

Sure blame Snyder for all of Scott's whiffs, and you might be right on some... but he has also been fired from a few other organizations, so don't pretend that hasn't happened, cuz it did. And many teams wanted nothing to do with Scott based on those previous jobs where things went south.

Blame Danny Boy... sure. But let's not act like Scott is a saint, and the best GM on the planet

He's the best thing to happen to this franchise. Scot was fired for drinking issues, not his talent. And he isn't being fired for his drinking issues now, that's just a scapegoat.

You can continue to believe Snyders lies, I couldn't possibly care less. I've had this debate 100's of times on this forum over the last decade and eventually everyone see's the light.

are you kidding me - Scot may or may not have been drinking, but the real reason he was let go is not because of that, it's because these 2 bozos want him out of here - Scot did not let this franchise down, he gave us a glimpse of what could be and these 2 bozos are not going to let that happen

It shouldn't surprise me that some (idiot & clueless) fans may think that Scot was not doing his job ... get outa here with that stuff

OPEN YOUR EYES - FACT IS Scot was not allowed to continue to rebuild this franchise - this is a total BS situation created by these 2 bozos

Scot getting hummers from reporters for inside info, as well as his past history with alcohol should make people pause before condemning the organization. They are to blame with the way they handled it, but Scot isn't coming out of this looking like a bed of roses.
