Seems like someone is floating the rumor that Cousins doesn't want to stay in DC. This reeks of Allen making up a BS rumor and waiting to use McCloughan as the fall guy for not getting the contract done last year. So Kirk moves on next year because we didn't want to pay him, we don't receive any compensation for him, it's played that Kirk doesn't want to stay here, and McCloughan is fired because he couldn't get a deal done last year. I feel like we're back to 2008.

The article talks about building the defense up. Who the hell is gonna do that now? McCloughan is out. Scott Campbell? Alex Santos? Haha. What a joke.

These guys have to left alone to do their work. Shanahan was fired because he wanted things done his way. McCloughan is next. Allen and Snyder are crushing this.
Miss you 21

I think Kirk is a very good QB, without a doubt. But, if he goes, I'm still a fan for sure. Cousins is not Tom Brady or Drew Brees. He played well, but his stats are a bit padded. He also choked at the worst times. Now, that may be fixable, I dunno. But, I don't think he's the Second Coming of Sonny! If they lose Garcon and Jackson, then Kirk's padded stat sheet gets even worse. Kirk just seems very timid to me. He's got the skill set, but he just seems to lack that "X factor" that makes a QB a natural leader and force. For what they have to pay him, I'm not heartbroken if he's gone. I just don't know for sure that Cousins can deliver the goods when the pressure is really on.

I'd love to see the Skins get Mitch Trubisky from UNC. I'm biased because I'm a UNC alum and loved the kid's performance.

I'm a Redskins fan and no matter who is playing QB, I hope we find a way to play well - without a decent FO, that is not possible

our win loss record is mostly due to having people in charge who know what it takes, not who plays QB

this owner is a nightmare and he's learned nothing
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Its not about Kirk specifically. Its all of it. Its about the team just obliterating overnight anything good they've been building.

Agreed.

How is this fan base supposed to remain positive after losing Garcon and Jackson, more likely than not Chris Baker and SM, and also possibly Kirk?

Agreed. I almost bailed on the Skin's during the Griffin debacle but Cousins gave me fresh hope but if they lose Kirk I'm not wasting anymore time with them. The ownership is the problem and messing up the recent success and going down the crapper again is the last straw.

how happy is Kirk Cousins that he did not sign a long term deal - Tom Brady couldn't make this franchise be a success under Dan Snyder

Kirk Cousins is a good NFL QB and he will not be playing QB for the Redskins because he is not stupid
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

given the new reports out of Redskins Park ...

the good news is that Kirk Cousins will not be playing QB for the Redskins this season

and that's also the bad news

Is there anyone that really thinks or hopes that Kirk Cousins will play QB for the Redskins this season?

why would he want to do that and why would we let him stay for a year and then be gone?

I have given up thinking that way ... but ... this is really bad for the NFL and it's hard to believe someone could want to be looked at this way - all the time

GIVE IT UP DANNY - get out of here!

It's clear that Snyder is delusional. He's insulates himself from criticism and obfuscates his meddling with the hiring of "yes men". He does this by hiring people associated with this franchises storied past, thus putting the fan base in a compromising situation of hating people/ideas that they grew up loving.

I don't blame anyone for wanting to quit this team. I've been absolutely disgusted with this off-season.
