That's for sure. I think its dumb though the way they're comparing a contract this year to a contract from two or three years ago. Its not the apples:oranges, and the $$ amount isn't as important as % of the overall cap. There's a percentage that teams should expect to pay their starting QB.

"Many" also think we faked the moon landing. Lazy way of pretending one has facts to back up an opinion.
#ManyPeopleAreSaying == "it suggests an ominous association between two subjects but isn’t clearly sourced enough to be discounted for lack of evidence. "

Many fans & NFL media think that Garoppolo is going to get a $100M deal and Cousins should get more than that ...

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Who thinks? Names and sources or it's garbage.
and for more on this ... Many think & hope that Jason La Canfora (who is normally so wrong it's amazing he has a job) is right about this ...
What about Cousins?
Last but not least, there is the Kirk Cousins situation. He’s going to be franchised by Washington, which we first reported on Thanksgiving morning. And, unlike last year, the Redskins will make a legit concerted effort to sign him to a fair-market deal (unlike the low-ball overtures of a year ago). And by July 15, I suspect Cousins has a long-term deal with Washington agreed to. Kyle Shanahan and Pace and others will have trade interest, but when you factor in a $25M annual contract with how many picks it would take to pry him away, I’d put far higher odds on Romo and Garoppolo being dealt than I would on Cousins. Not for lack of interest, however.

Give him some credit. "Many fans in the NE area" is a lot more specific than usual.

Many people on this forum think some people on this forum post things people never said or thought.
Am I getting the gist of how this is done?

there are a few here that think this site would be better off if some of us just left it up to those that know it all ...
this thread is about rumors and signings - rumors are mostly just that ... get off your high horse

That would be a terrible blow IMO. Doubly awful.
hopefully we don't let that happen but if we let him go I hope he plays well wherever he goes - kid is a good player
I hope we find a way to keep all the good players from last season - keep our own and add some young free agents plus BPA in the draft

Yes. Also ...
2/25: The Redskins are likely to pursue Calais Campbell. - John Keim, ESPN
Calais Campbell is one of the top defensive linemen in the NFL. He's outstanding in every regard, placing tons of pressure on opposing quarterbacks and clamping down against the run. He would be a five-star free agent if he were a couple of years younger, but he turns 31 on the first day of September.

Redskins OLB Junior Galette is back with the team on a one-year, $800,000 contract.
Galette's contract tolled after he spent all of 2016 on the non-football injury list, but still took a pay cut on the $1.6 million he was scheduled to make. Galette has not played since 2014 because of back-to-back Achilles' tears, but he is a solid, low-cost gamble for a team in need of pass rushers.

fwiw - it seems that Galette is V motivated to stay and play for the Redskins

Sorry but if Garcon goes to Dallas, I won't be hoping that he "plays well wherever he goes". How would that work exactly? "Sucks that the Cowboys won the division, but I'm glad they did it with the help of former Redskin, Pierre Garcon." ??
DEHog, that Romo to DC idea is terrible too. I don't have it ranked quite as highly only because I refuse to believe we would be stupid enough to make that move. And yet... even as I type that sentence, I know how crazy it is to type that sentence.

I'm proud to say I've never wished anyone leaving the Skins for another team good luck and wish them the best. Simply put, if you're not for us, you're against us.
Romo to DC really is one of the most crappiest things that could happen. I'd be with management and some of the good will they built up with me will get flushed.
The pukes are not winning the division because 1 player plays well ... to take it one step further, I prefer to look at it as, the only way the pukes win at all is because the other franchises did not play well, NOT because the pukes have better players

That would be a true sign that Danny is the one calling the shots.

I think both guys would be excellent veteran additions on the line on both sides of the ball. I'd be happy with those two signings and bringing back Garcon. I'd be a happy camper with those three, the rest would be gravy. If we can't get Campbell, I would think its imperative that we land one of the KC free agents, either Poe or Berry.
I don't really want to see Nick Mangold here. No offense to him. Would rather see the team continue to develop Spencer Long or draft a C.
I've heard Bennie Logan DT from Philly as a possible target. 27 year old guy who can play nose.

I think Long was OK. He was definitely an upgrade over Licht, but I didn't think he was anything special. King of league average. I have no problem seeing him play C again next year, just get another stud at LG to replace Luvao......particularly a mauler who can get the run game going. I don't know too much about Logan, but we definitely need upgrades across the D-line, with the excpetion of Baker, who we need to re-sign.
Chiefs not expected to use tag on Dontari Poe
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Chiefs are not expected to use the franchise tag on free agent NT Dontari Poe.
There had been some chatter that if the Chiefs re-signed Eric Berry or Poe, then they could tag the other, but that won't be the case after Kansas City made Berry the league's highest-paid safety. The Chiefs don't have a ton of cap room and won't be able to keep everyone. Poe, 26, is one of the NFL's few nose tackles who can play on every down.
