Is using google an actual way of researching information?

Why is that even a question? Of course it's "an actual way of researching information." Did you mean is it a reliable way, or is the information accurate?

Reliable and accurate both equally. I don't use Wikipedia for anything except as a 3rd way to check my information quest.
Example would be NFL championship history.
1st google NFL.com
then Google each NFL team
3rd look for a seperate site to verify. Not wikipedia
4th compare wikipedia just to see how accurate wikipedia is.
