Champ gets burned?

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Yeah I saw it they could have call pass interference on him also but didn't. the Seahawks came right bak after him the next play on a corner route in the back of the endzone the receiver should have had that one to for the TD but dropped it and Yep Champ was out of position

Gambit...even though the receiver had to come back for it...Champ should have still covered him better. I know you're a Champ fan...but you have to admit, he misplayed that ball....and got "burned".

Ok can this be the official "Champ gets burned thread"?

Of course we need to start the " Clintin didn't get 5.5 yards thread"

Actually TC I was doing quite well.. the three conselings per week were really helping.

It's funny that people are keeping one eye on Champ...tells me some folks are worried

Why are they posting this (in pre-season no less)? You won't see me starting a thread every time Champ get a Int!

Now who's not over it??

I could be wrong, DEHog, but my guess is that this thread was in response to Elway07's post to Skins fans...."Thanks for Champ, Ladies".

Lets face DE, know one really wanted to see Champ go. They/We are hurt and will continue to monitor him so we can say "See Champ you should have stayed," or "All money aint good money Champ!"

I love that we have Portis now and is time to move on.

I want to thank the Skins for getting Portis outta the AFC West. Will Champ make as much a difference against the Chefs O as Portis did against the Chefs D?

That's the question.. MS must think so...he seems to think anybody can run in his system. Champ gives his D# a chance to do some different things up front, I would have love to have seen Champ with the D we have now can you imagine a secondary with Champ,Smoot,Bowen and Taylor??

yep - we wouldn't have anyone on the DLine, had to cut several players and would have been run all over

::shrug:: guess it's a matter of where you want to spend your money :)

I don't think he was worth the money of what was it - 6 free agent pickups? Washington, Griffin, Portis, etc. etc....

You are telling me with all due logic that Champ can replace every single player that adds up to that whopping salary? Come on... not logical at all.

A shutdown corner may be the rarest creature on the earth - it means that most teams win without them... even to the point of winning superbowls.

Very little has been made of the fact that letting Bailey go freed up a bunch of cap to make other acquisitions. That should be part of the equation as well. Bailey was gonna cost 6.8M on this year's cap. Same as what Shawn Springs ($2.368M), Marcus Washington ($1.701M), Cornelius Griffin ($1.918M), Ralph Brown ($660K) and Walt Harris ($230K) cost in 2004. Totals out to $6.877M.

Yes that all part of it, but a huge portion of the money was taken up by Portis...I don't think you can just say oh.... we got all these players for what we would have paid Champ. Not sure what Portis is making will have to look it up??

10. Pick Darius Watts. Who's Darius Watts? The guy who's been beating Champ Bailey in Bronco practices, that's who. The second-round wideout from Marshall will wedge his way into Mike Shanahan's lineup very soon.
