Hognostication Playoffs 2017 - Wild Card Round

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostication Playoffs 2017 - Wild Card Round

Post by Deadskins »

Welcome to the Hognostication playoffs for the 2016-2017 NFL season. First, let me say congratulations to DarthMonk. Great year! You were at the top or very near the entire season. Here are the final scores, for the record:

Code: Select all

1 DarthMonk 168
2 REDEEMEDSKIN 166
3 ACW 164
4 Irn Bru 160
5 SkinsJock 158
6 Deadskins 157
7 riggofan 156
8 Justice Hog 154
9 tribeofjudah 153
10 Countertrey 135
11 David Lyne 133
12 Burgundy&GoldForever 114
Here's how the Hognostication Playoffs work:

Once again, we are going to have a tournament of these 12 players. The top four seeds get a bye. This week, 12 will play at 5, 11 @ 6, 10 @ 7, and 9 @ 8. Every subsequent week, the contestants will be reseeded based on the previous week's results. Home field advantage is given by making the visiting team pick first. There will be two deadlines for getting picks in, one for the visitors and one for the home team. This week, the visitors' deadline is 12:00 NOON, EST on Friday. You are picking the winner of each game, and a point total for the entire weekend. Once a visitor has made his picks, he can change his picks as often as he'd like, up until the home team has made their picks. The home team can not make their picks until the visiting team has done so, or the visiting team's deadline has passed. Once the home team has picked, the visiting team's picks are locked, EVEN IF THE VISITORS' DEADLINE HAS NOT PASSED. The home team's picks don't lock until five minutes before the first game of the weekend (the home team's deadline). The home team's total score prediction can not be an even number difference from the visiting team's total. (Visitors say 121, home team can't say 123. This way, no ties) Whole numbers only.

Here are the games to be Hognosticated this weekend:

Saturday, January 7th

Raiders at Texans 4:35 PM ET
Lions at Seahawks 8:15 PM ET

Sunday, January 8th

Dolphins at Steelers 1:05 PM ET
Giants at Packers 4:40 PM ET

Good luck to everyone, and happy Hognosticating!

Well, the visitors deadline has come and gone, but I'm going to wait to make my picks anyway, since I was so late creating the thread. But if I were B&GF, I wouldn't wait too much longer, SJ is not known for his lenience. Tribe should take notice too, JH could lock you out at any time.

I agree - BG&F has not 'participated' for some time - no reason to rush
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

[-X CT also had to drop out because some of us have lives outside of this forum but I don't see you making snide comments about his having been added so that there can be a playoff.

WHOA - don't get your panties in a knot - it was not mean't as a 'snide remark' and CT did note that it surprised him he was part of the playoffs PLUS CT actually ended up above a player that played each week

take it however you want, I could care less about your sensitivity

Since it is my prerogative as the home team, I will change my point total to 180.

Yes, but let's get real. Darth and SJ played the entire season and deserve to be there. I had to drop out and didn't deserve to be in the playoffs. Fair is fair.

Thanks - I will say that I would have been the first to congratulate you and wish you well if Eli had scored a TD on that last drive

I knew exactly what that INT meant - stupid Eli

I don't see what that has to do with getting a closer point total than Darth. I also picked the games correctly, but was 14 points over on the score.
